1) Recover comes to u… Read Full Bio ↴There are at least three bands called Recover:
1) Recover comes to us from Austin, TX. Started by four young childhood friends as a Green Day cover band, the reclusive set eventually found a sound of their own that defies today’s incessant need for sub-categories. If you can’t resist, Recover is a rock band, pure and simple.
After releasing their first full length “Rodeo and Picasso” in 2001 on indie Fueled By Ramen, at an average age of just 18, Recover was approached to release an EP with another indie, Fiddler, later that year. 'Ceci N'est Pas Recover' was recorded in 2002, with producer Brian McTernan, at Salad Days studio in Beltsville, Maryland. Slowly pulling out an evolved sound, Recover found their voice and set their sights on touring. Their raucous live show and strong original songwriting quickly made them a bands’ band leading to a slew of great touring partners. They hit the road relentlessly for two years with peers including Jimmy Eat World, A.F.I., Taking Back Sunday, Coheed & Cambria, Thrice, Thursday and many others. After signing with Strummer/Universal records the band spent the second part of 2003 writing and recording their major label debut due out in the fall of 2004. Recorded by hometown friend and confidant ‘5th member’ Rory Phillips and mixed by the legendary Andy Wallace, the album combines the raw emotion and experimental musicianship that encompasses the ‘best of’ their previous two efforts.
In early 2009, the band announced that they have officially reunited and that their first show back will be at the Chain Reaction.
2) Recover is also a Hardcore band from Singapore. Their S/T album is the second full length from this old Singaporean band. This full length retains the old school hardcore sound with plenty of breakdowns, sing alongs, fingerpoints and mosh parts with a slight metallic feel. The production is superb but not overly done. Lyrics deal with socio politcal issues like the Bush administration, the UN, IMF and more. Comes in a tri fold digipack. A classic.
3) Recover is a currently unsigned rock band based in County Carlow, Ireland. The four members are originally from Co. Carlow, Co. Wicklow, Co. Dublin and Turkey. The band began in 2008. Recover play covers as well as a handful of original songs.

And we're testing your secrets.
Do you find yourself useful
Standing there moving nowhere?
Imagine the lives saved
And the movies never made.
Killed with kindness, led by blindness away from home.
A bullet was shot into the air last night.
We're coming out fully loaded.
Do you find yourself useful
Standing there doing nothing?
We have to whisper. bled and blistered on our own.
Killed with kindness, led by blindness away from home.
I try so hard, never have enough to say.
It blurs, waivers, focus, just focus.
Imagine the lives saved,
The movies never made,
Ticking your life away
And a reason for me to hate.
Blowing up the spot.
The lyrics to Recover's song "Rodeo" are filled with existential questions and challenges to the listener's sense of usefulness and purpose. The opening lines assert the band's intent to take on something, presumably a difficult challenge or situation, and to "turn you on" or inspire the listener to action. The next lines are more cryptic, as the band mentions the testing of secrets and asks if the listener finds themselves useful, even though they are "standing there moving nowhere." It's possible that the band is asking the listener to consider their own secrets or hidden truths, and challenging them to take action or make a change in their lives.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase, "We have to whisper. bled and blistered on our own. Killed with kindness, led by blindness away from home." These lines suggest a sense of isolation and struggle, but also a willingness to continue on despite the hardships. The next verse includes a reference to a bullet that was shot into the air the previous night, and the band declares that they are "coming out fully loaded" and ready for action. Again, the band questions the listener's usefulness and urges them not to simply stand by, doing nothing.
The final lines of the song seem to touch on themes of regret and missed opportunities, with the band urging the listener to imagine the potential impact of lives saved and movies never made. The repetition of the phrase "blowing up the spot" suggests a desire for change and disruption, perhaps even in the face of fear or risk.
Overall, the lyrics to "Rodeo" are open to interpretation, but they seem to carry a sense of urgency and challenge to the listener to find their own purpose and take action in the face of difficulty.
