On the road

I hope you treat it right
I wanted to rekindle
But then I had realized
If I didn't make them hard calls
Then I'd be dying inside
But now I see you're really gone
I can't help but to cry
I had to walk away
Oh this time
I had to walk away
I'm alone
(Ooooo)
On this road
(Ooooooo)
Take my feeble heart and run
(Ooooooo)
I can't hold on to it no mo
(Ooooooo)
I'm alone
(Ooooo)
On this road
(Ooooooo)
Take my feeble heart and run
(Ooooooo)
I can't hold on to it no mo
(Ooooooo)
The song "On The Road" by Red.Deer is all about the life of a trucker on the road, going from place to place, meeting new people, and living the dream of being the "King of the open road". The song starts with a call out to the big wheels to roll, emphasizing the importance of the truck and how it takes the singer to places far and wide. The reference to Hank Snow's song "Movin' On" only reinforces the idea of a trucker's free spirit and desire to travel.
The singer then goes on to mention different places he has been to and will be going to - from Memphis to Nashville, where he'll be sitting on the Grand Ole Opry stage, to Louisville, where a pretty little miss serves him coffee. The lines "Out of Loui'ville there's a truck stop with a pretty little miss / She brings me a cup of coffee while she's doin' a twist" paint a vivid picture of a unique moment on the road, a short encounter that lingers in the memory of the singer.
The song ends with the singer reaching his final destination, the big town of Detroit, where he will "drop his load" and "have some fun". The upbeat, fun rhythm of the song matches the carefree spirit of a trucker's life, where every road is an adventure.

U from Indonesia?
@thistime1483
I lived in red Deer from 2003 to 2016. Pretty awesome city. I'm always surprised at how big it has gotten when I go there now.
@spawn11
Hey man, Why you left? Due to employment or just not livable?
@thistime1483
@@spawn11 No, it was always a very livable city with lots of employment. I made the horrible mistake of moving to BC for a few years. I am now happily back in central Alberta.
@spawn11
@@thistime1483 Glad you returned back on right time. BC and Ontario are bad and expensive for no reason.
@thistime1483
@@spawn11 Absolutely true. It's very hard to live in BC.
@spawn11
@@thistime1483 same sh*t bud here ON too. Even outskirts of Toronto 200 km radius are unaffordable.
