Redman's solo career continued throughout the remainder of the decade, with each of his albums selling at least half a million copies. His musical style has remained very consistent, rarely deviating from a combination of Redman's unique braggadocious wit and hard, P-funk-influenced beats. In addition to releasing albums under his own name, he is part of the group Def Squad (along with Keith Murray and Erick Sermon) with whom he released the 1998 album El Nino, and also has formed a close partnership with labelmate Method Man (of the Wu-Tang Clan) with whom he released the 1999 album Blackout!. The long-awaited follow-up, Blackout! 2, apeared in 2009.
He has also collaborated extensively, both with hip-hop artists and with artists from other genres; the long list of artists and groups he has worked with includes Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, The Offspring, Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Gorillaz, D'Angelo, Me'shell Ndegeocello, 2Pac, Jodeci, Cypress Hill, De La Soul, KRS One and IAM.
In 2001 Redman co-starred with Method Man in the stoner comedy film How High, which featured the pair playing two marijuana-addled students attempting to survive at Harvard. Method Man and Redman also appear in the Def Jam Vendetta video game series, often as Tag Team partners, and briefly had their own television sitcom, Method & Red, on Fox during the 2004-2005 season.
Redman is also featured on the video game "True Crime: New York City", in which the central character interacts with an undercover street cop based upon the rap star, who also provides the voice for him.

P funkadelic and I gotcha hard enough
That I can chew a whole bag of rocks
Chew an avenue chew an off street and off block
Then turn around and do the same damn thing to a soloist
'Cause Reggie Noble's pissed
I crush your whole brain frame
'Cause you couldn't maintain the funk
'Cause 92 I take a whole crew
Give them a punch of the funk, knock all of their gold tooth loose
To show you what type of stuff I'm on
You can't puff or sniff it
Because I was born with it
The funkadelic devil, hit you with the rap level of 10
Then 1, 2, 3 you're pinned
I get action, so everybody jump wit your rump
If you like the way it sounds punk,
Pump it in your back trunk
And let loose with the juice when I do rock
I'm too hot, some say I got more juice then 2pac
(Straight outta jersey)
You heard me, my brother
I'm laughin
Time 4 sum action
Lights, camera, cock back the hammer
Straight from the land of the lost
I'ma hit you with the funk force
That makes you run your rap style back to the crack vile
Brotha
Then strike a pose like Madonna
My mom's kicked me out because I did what I want to
The original p-funk stroke a trunk of funk
Then you saw caps cause my jaw snaps with the raw raps
So color me bad, plus color me black
For the funk that I pack, red freak it to the funk track
(The funky fly stuff)
Come on and let me kick
(The funky fly stuff)
Just to show you where the hell I come from
I get dumb with the 1, 1-2
Check my rep, I'm a hit when I have sex
Make you twist to the list
Of a funky brain cell when it's puffed on a spliff
And all that, the hi hat, go buy that,
Listen, look, oops, brother where your eyes at?
There on the floor, pick em up
While I pour a lil funk down your brain punk
Listen to my name chump
(Redman ready to rock)
I got a glock
Then, pow!, your body is all over the block
Tryin' to step to the, the exorcist, kick it
I git mad wicked when the twin cocks the buscuit
And blow your head off, just for askin'
"Who's the one rappin?"
Time for sum action
The lyrics to Redman's "Time 4 Some Aksion" are a display of his prowess in hip-hop that earned him the nickname Funk Doc. The lyrics are a punchline after punchline that showcases his lyrical expertise. The introductory stanza establishes Redman as a funk bodysnatcher, a P-Funkadelic, and someone with enough strength to chew a whole bag of rocks, an avenue, an off-street, and an off-block with ease. He proclaims that he is so full of funk that he will effortlessly crush your whole brain frame if you can't handle it. He also boasts of knocking all of the gold tooth loose from a whole crew with a punch of the funk.
Redman's verses are filled with wordplay and metaphors that make it difficult to keep up with his flow. He rhymes about Madonna, his mom kicking him out, and the original P-Funk while still ensuring that his audience knows he's too hot. He warns those who try to step to him that it's time for action, and they should expect to be hit with his funk force. The chorus is simple, reaffirming that it's indeed time for some action, and the lights and cameras should be ready.
Redman's story about the land of the lost, his mom, and the original P-Funk is both amusing and impressive. His metaphors and wordplay can make the audience smile while trying to figure out what he means. His style allowed him to gain a considerable following in the hip-hop industry and has also influenced other rappers. Redman's flow is impeccable and he has a unique voice that makes his rapping stand out.

This was when hip hop scared people. It was dangerous. Gangster is hell without ever letting off a shot. This is one of the greatest songs ever recorded in the history of music. I miss this .
