They were equally well known for their skill as producers and re-mixers of songs by others as they were for their own music. The two core members were Danny Briottet and Gary Asquith, both former members of Mass. Karl Bonnie was a founding member but quit in 1990 after the release of their debut album. Asquith had also previously served with early 4AD signing, Rema-Rema.
Their early singles mixed together the sound of dance culture, East-end hip-hop and a dash of electro-industrial noise. Later singles such as Biting my Nails and The Phantom were early dance floor classics, however their only UK Top 40 hit was Probably a Robbery which reached number 38 in the UK singles chart in 1990.

Renegade Soundwave Lyrics

My ears were numb, I was feeling excited
I could taste it, the melody breaks
Flashing faster than time
My house was shaking, my walls vibrating
My house was shaking, my walls vibrating
I′ve got the skills to make the deals
Got a poetry lesson at nine
I said balance yourself, you′ll be fine
My house was shaking, my walls vibrating
Renegade Soundwave, Renegade Soundwave
Renegade Soundwave, Renegade Soundwave
Renegade Soundwave, Renegade Soundwave
Hiccups with my pick-ups
The guitar we couldn't tune
In the twilight hours
Like I'm down with the showers
Meteors keep crashing through
On the eve of destruction
My house was shaking
My walls vibrating, Renegade Soundwave
Renegade Soundwave, Renegade Soundwave
Renegade Soundwave, Renegade Soundwave
Renegade Soundwave, Renegade Soundwave
Renegade Soundwave, Renegade Soundwave
I was just coming back from a house party
My ears were numb, I was feeling excited
When you′ve worked for McCleans your production is clean

My house was shaking (shaking)
My walls vibrating (vibrating)
My house was shaking (my walls vibrating)
My walls vibrating (my walls vibrating)

Heard this song back in '95 on a Norwegian Alternative Music Channel. Was Love at first Listen. Allthough noone will probably see this message: Thank you for this song. It's still as powerful now as it was then. 👌🌞👌
@SJoriis
Discovered it last year, agree with you, it was indeed love at first listen. Greetings from the Netherlands.
@andyb6220
Probably time to give it a listen again ❤
@analoguewings
This was the new single when I saw them live. Sounded like this but with 1,000,000 times the bass. Awesome night.
@jamesraeburn7348
I first heard of them with their first single, probably a robbery, I was hooked from then on, especially when the house scene kicked off, cheers for the music and great memories, RENEGADE SOUNDWAVE!!!!!!!🙂
@noirpoursortirlesoir
Renegade Soundwave has definitely taken a Serge Gainsbourg sample in this song
@ThePerfumeGuy
Very underrated band.
@antodarcy1
RSW great band.
@brianbeveney339
Brings back memories of motorways, expensive tickets and a party atmosphere that cannot be matched again in the UK. Bright coloured clothing, unity at last until Thatcher passed a bill to stop the party people. Let's call it history
@fonebender
I just realized that this song is a sample of Bonnie and Clyde by Serge Gainsbourg. LOL, after all these years. Love RSW.
