Reset was formed in 1995 in Montreal, Quebec. Originally the band members were Pierre Bouvier, Philippe Jolicoeur, Charles-André "Chuck" Comeau and Jean-Sébastien Boileau. Reset recorded a demo tape : Concerned, in 1995.
Then came the first full length album: No Worries in 1997 recorded at Le Studio Morin-Heights. The band shot a video clip for the single “Why”. In 1999 Reset had a different line up. Pierre was now singing and playing bass, and a new member, Adrian White from Vancouver, joined to play drums with the punk rock band based out of Montreal. In 2000 they released No Limits. This album was recorded in Vancouver BC and was produced by Greg Reely.
Three video clips were filmed for No Limits: Pollution, Pressure, My Dream and I. David Desrosiers replaced Pierre Bouvier in 2001 but only to stay with the band for 6 months, leaving to join Simple Plan, already consisting of two previous band members, Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau.
In 2004, Reset came back with a third album : Radioactive. The album was produced, performed, mixed and mastered by Philippe Jolicoeur. The next year in 2005 RESET has a new line-up with Phil (guitars & vocals) Martin Gendreau (drums) and Claude Plamondon (bass & vocals).

Holy War
Reset Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The population thought that it would last
Foundations of
A new world based on peace is getting trashed
Why can't extremist minds
Realize their story is based on lies
You just don't get it
You can't forget it
Explosion took us by surprise
Religion took away their lives
Reconciliation tastes much better than your lies
Suicidal human bombs
An act of god there's something wrong
50 deaths in so little time
It's all in your mind
The song "Holy War" by Reset speaks about the war that ended, and people believed that the end of war will bring peace. However, the song presents a bitter reality of war, where the foundations of the new world based on peace are shattered. Extremist minds continue to promote their story based on lies and fail to realize the pain they cause. The lyrics emphasize the adverse effects of war on the population and how innocent families have to pay the price of religious conflicts.
The lyrics further explain how explosive terror attacks have become a common surprise, and human bombs have become suicidal. Religion has turned into a tool to take human’s lives, leaving many dead in little time. The song questions the validity of people’s beliefs and how it is affecting human life. It suggests that reconciliation is the way forward and tastes much better than the lies that extremist minds spread.
