Reach Of Love
Resurrection Band Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Days come when I feel alone and cold, and freedom seems so uneven a trade,
For the warmth I felt when you where near me, it's but a memory in this tired charade I play.

Take me, oh, take me back to the time,
We'll leave this world behind,
Take me, oh, take me - or am I beyond the reach of love?

You've often told me I could never lose you,
You'd be there no matter where I'd run,
But in the same breath you say I didn't choose you,
Let the distance between us be reduced to none.

Take me, oh, take me back to the time,
We'll leave this world behind,
Take me, oh, take me,
Don't let me be beyond the reach of love,
Take me, oh, take me back to the time,
We'll leave this world behind,
Take me, oh, take me,
Don't let me be beyond the reach of love.

That's the reach of love, of love,
That's the reach of love, of love,
That's the reach of love, of love,
That's the reach of love, of love,
That's the reach of love, of love,

That's the reach of love, of love,

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Reach of Love" by Resurrection Band describe the feelings of loneliness and coldness that the singer experiences. The desire to feel the warmth and comfort of someone close to them is so strong that the singer wishes to go back to the time when they were together. However, there is a feeling of uncertainty as to whether they are still within the reach of love or if they are beyond it.

The lyrics convey the pain of a relationship that has changed and the frustration of not being able to bridge the distance between them. The line "Let the distance between us be reduced to none" highlights the longing for a reconnection, but the acknowledgement that it may not be possible. The phrase "tired charade" suggests that the singer is going through the motions of life without true happiness or fulfillment.

Overall, the song expresses the idea that love has a reach that can extend beyond physical proximity. The singer hopes that they are not beyond the reach of love, but the uncertainty remains. The message of the song is one of longing for connection and a reminder that love can heal even the most broken of relationships.

Days come when I feel alone and cold, and freedom seems so uneven a trade,
For the warmth I felt when you where near me, it’s but a memory in this tired charade I play.

Take me, oh, take me back to the time,
We’ll leave this world behind,
Take me, oh, take me – or am I beyond the reach of love?

You’ve often told me I could never lose you,
You’d be there no matter where I’d run,
But in the same breath you say I didn’t choose you,
Let the distance between us be reduced to none.

Take me, oh, take me back to the time,
We’ll leave this world behind,
Take me, oh, take me,
Don’t let me be beyond the reach of love,
Take me, oh, take me back to the time,
We’ll leave this world behind,
Take me, oh, take me,
Don’t let me be beyond the reach of love.

That’s the reach of love, of love,
That’s the reach of love, of love,
That’s the reach of love, of love,
That’s the reach of love, of love,
That’s the reach of love, of love,
That’s the reach of love, of love,

As one who was into the secular scene, and listened to Christian music too- this band could succeed in both genre. So glad they didn't sacrifice themselves for fame and $$$. There was so much I couldn't relate to in the Christian world- but these guys served as teachers, and examples as I transitioned from the world to the kingdom of God. The helped me to see I didn't have to become prudish, and boring to follow Jesus. They also served as examples of how to be missionaries in the world.

Harjit Bains Amen and true comment.

Harjit...completely agree with you...and have often thought they could have succeeded in both genre as well. Beautiful comment.

I was never much of a lover of heavy metal, but wow, I fell in love with Resurrection Band. The message was always up front and center in music and the spoken word. It was all about Jesus.
