He very soon after started playing solo shows comprising of harmonium, vocals, ektar and sometimes guitar, playing songs by great songwriters such as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, arranging his own versions of traditional folk/gospel songs, and also playing his own original compositions.
The name Ric Veda comes from an English translation of The Rig Veda ऋग्वेद, which in Sanskrit Rig means 'praise' and veda means 'knowledge'. It's the earliest of the four Hindu religious scriptures known as the Vedas.
Though influenced by traditional music (whether Woody Guthrie for american folk, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan for Qawwali, Bhagavan Das for Indian Chants, George Naope for Hawaiian, Fela Kuti etc..) we also love modern rock bands like U2, Sigur Ros and Arcade Fire, along theatrical thought-provoking acts like Tom Waits, and Bob Dylan, and modern folk like Elliot Smith and Devendra Banhart. This combined with experimental elements of Dub, Soul, Hip Hop, and Breakbeats all come together to form the music we make.

A huge problem in translation of Indian Vedah books is that the powers that be in the West insist the translations are in agreement with the narratives they use to hold the populations under their rule. This means it must be 'proof' of linear history, any reference to space flight and atomic wars must be presented as parables, i.e. fantasies, any reference to highly advanced technologies must be toned down to levels that are below the current technologies of the West. This is not just done for Hindu writings, it is done for all civilisations. The same problems as in India are found in Egypt. Clearcut evidence of civilisations more advanced than ours in some respects and that have to be dated at about 15.000 BCE, have to be reworked and changed into stuff that can start at 6000 BCE at its earliest because the Bible dates paradise at that time. Why are scientists following this pack of nonsense and lies? Simple. If they don't, they will be ostracised and won't get their salaries or research funding. It's as simple as that. It also happens in the science of physics. It has run aground and the solution that's available cannot be accepted. This keeps science back in a big way. This suppression is the sole reason we still don't have anti-gravity vehicles, good medicine, and such things.
