Ooh
Theres a ringing in my ears
But i′m not afraid of tears
I am not afraid to cry
My heart still beats
When my tears are dry
And i'm wondering where you go
Where you go?
This love is dangerous
It′s bad for the both of us
We can keep this fear at bay
No, it won't just wash away
Oh, it's time for me to say
Don′t wanna play your end game
Still I stay here by your side
Like a ghost
I am there, but not alive
Now i′m staring up at the ceiling
How the hell can i shake off this feeling
And i'm wondering where you go
When the lights fell on
Where you go
This love is dangerous
It′s bad for the both of us
We can keep this fear at bay
No, it won't just wash away
No, it′s time for me to say
Don't wanna play your end game
No, no, no, no
Don′t wanna play your end game
How little must you love me
To walk out like that
How empty are your sorry
So go and do that
You tell me that you want me
You tell me that need me
But it's all a lie
How little must you love me
To walk out like that
How empty are your sorry
So go and do that
You didn't know i′ll do it
I′d kiss you in a bullet
Now this is goodbye
This love is dangerous
It's bad for the both of us
We can keep this fear at bay
No, it won′t just wash away
Oh it's time for me to say
Don′t wanna play your end game
Play your end game
Don't wanna play your end game
The song "Try" by Rob Houchen tells a story of a person who is struggling to come to terms with a difficult romantic relationship. The opening lines set the mood of the song with the singer talking about the ringing in their ears, which could symbolize the noise and confusion that comes with a complicated relationship. The lines "I am not afraid to cry, my heart still beats when my tears are dry" are a powerful message that even though the person is going through a difficult time, they have the strength to keep going. The chorus is a reflection of the complex relationship the singer is in, in which they acknowledge that the love is dangerous for both parties involved, and they don't want to play the other person's end game.
The verse that says "How little must you love me, to walk out like that? How empty are your sorry? So go and do that." could be about a partner who left abruptly, leaving the singer feeling unimportant and questioning the genuineness of their apologies. The final verse "This love is dangerous, It's bad for the both of us, We can keep this fear at bay, No, it won′t just wash away" implies that the singer is aware that the relationship is not healthy, but they are still unable to let go.
Overall, the lyrics of "Try" are heartfelt and relatable for anyone who has gone through the emotional turmoil of a complicated and difficult relationship.
