Williams has received a record 18 Brit Awards, winning Best British Male Artist four times, Outstanding Contribution to Music twice, an Icon Award for his lasting impact on British culture, eight German ECHO Awards, and three MTV European Music Awards. In 2004, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame after being voted the Greatest Artist of the 1990s. According to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), he has been certified for 20.2 million albums and 8.66 million singles in the UK as a solo artist. Five of his albums have also topped the Australian albums chart, and has sold 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He also topped the 2000–2010 UK airplay chart. His three concerts at Knebworth in 2003 drew over 375,000 people, the UK's biggest music event to that point. In 2014, he was awarded the freedom of his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent and had a tourist trail created and streets named in his honour. Williams' thirteenth album, XXV was released on 9 September 2022.
After 15 years, Williams rejoined Take That in 2010 to co-write and perform lead vocals on their album Progress, which became the second-fastest-selling album in UK chart history and the fastest-selling record of the century at the time. The subsequent stadium tour, which featured seven songs from Williams' solo career, became the biggest-selling concert in UK history when it sold 1.34 million tickets in less than 24 hours. In 2011, Take That frontman Gary Barlow confirmed that Williams had left the band for a second time to focus on his solo career, although he stated that the departure was amicable and that Williams was welcome to rejoin Take That in the future. Williams has since performed with Take That on three separate television appearances, and collaborated with Barlow on a number of projects such as the West End musical The Band.

All I be needing is
Tobacco and draw
Better let me into your
Country though
Then I can show you what
You're missing me for
I'm a night kind of animal
What you testing me for
I was scared so I ate 'em all
They tasted good
But they make me look old
And ooh, you teach
Like a toothache,
I'm not here for my sake,
How long will this mickey take
And ooh,
There's heavy entertainment,
Out here on the pavement
The men about you gotta
Get away
Do, ooh ooh, ooh, ooh ya mind,
If I, I, I, I, I, I touch ya?
Do, ooh ooh, ooh, ooh ya mind,
If I, I, I, I, I, I touch ya?
I'll think you're famous
If that's what ya want
But you can pick your
Own pulpit,
You must fill your own fonts
Bring some wine
And some sensodyne
Then you can be my
Favorite dodo
Anyone fancy Monaco
I'm a placebo they're
Chasing me fool
Don't be scared
You could eat 'em all
They taste good
But they make you look old
Ooh, you sick little cup cake,
You could be a keepsake,
You jukebox to generate
And ooh,
I'm heavy entertainment
In need of containment
I'm mad about you
Gotta get away
Do, ooh ooh, ooh, ooh ya mind,
If I, I, I, I, I, I touch ya?
Do, ooh ooh, ooh, ooh ya mind,
If I, I, I, I, I, I touch ya?
Anyone fancy Monaco?
Go get a portable
Recliner bin
Must take a photo for sure
Got our our problems and
A real long name
And she gets high on
Rollin' roll-ups
And ooh, you teach
Like a toothache,
I'm not here for my sake,
How long will this mickey take
And ooh,
There's heavy entertainment,
Out here on the pavement
The men about you gotta
Get away
Do, ooh ooh, ooh, ooh ya mind,
If I, I, I, I, I, I touch ya?
Do, ooh ooh, ooh, ooh ya mind,
If I, I, I, I, I, I touch ya?
Do, ooh ooh, ooh, ooh ya mind,
If I, I, I, I, I, I touch ya?
Do, ooh ooh, ooh, ooh ya mind,
If I, I, I, I, I, I touch ya?
The lyrics of Robbie Williams's song "Do You Mind" are full of metaphors and enigmatic imagery, making it a challenging piece of songwriting to interpret. The song seems to be about a restless, impulsive individual who is searching for meaning and connection in a world that feels chaotic and uncertain. Throughout the song, the singer contemplates their desires and impulses, wondering if they will ever be able to find true satisfaction.
The song's chorus repeats the question "Do you mind, if I touch ya?" suggesting a physical desire or urge for intimacy, but it can also be interpreted as a metaphor for deeper emotional connection. The singer seems to be in a state of constant flux, shifting between moments of intensity and moments of vulnerability.
The verses are full of vivid poetic imagery, such as the lines "Bring some wine and some sensodyne / Then you can be my favorite dodo" which paints a surreal picture of a strange, idiosyncratic world. The song incorporates elements of rock, pop, and electronic music, creating a soundscape that feels both nostalgic and futuristic.
Overall, the song conveys a sense of restlessness and longing that is relatable to many listeners. Its abstract, poetic lyrics leave room for a wide range of interpretations, making it a song that can resonate with people in different ways.
