With his unique fingerstyle guitar-playing and excellent bottleneck-technique he is widely considered one of the greatest rock guitarists.
Krieger taught himself to play guitar in a private school where his parents sent him after having some troubles in study. At first, he was interested in flamenco, but soon he expanded his playing to jazz, blues and folk.
Robby met Ray Manzarek in one of the meditation classes he was attending. Manzarek asked Krieger to jam with his fellow bandmembers John Densmore, who Robby knew already from a band called The Psychedelic Rangers, and a singer/poet called Jim Morrison.
Krieger wrote many of the band's classic songs. Light My Fire, Love Me Two Times, Touch Me and Love Her Madly were all written by him.
After The Doors, Krieger has become known as a jazz guitarist, has recorded multiple solo albums, and is currently playing, along with Ray Manzarek, in a group called Riders On The Storm. He has also guested on a number of projects organised by Billy Sherwood, including Return to the Dark Side of the Moon and From Here to Infinity by Jim Ladd's Headsets.

I like the vibe on this instrumental...so cool and so ear-pleasing...the video was electric too....Glad you are still writing and recording Robby...I last saw you in Austin Texas at The Metro on 6th Street back in like 2000...After your gig I was invited up for a meet and greet and I smoked a doobie with your son Waylon ...what a treat...to talk to and shake the hand of one of my favorite guitarists was amazing...My Rush tribute band ended up playing The Metro twice, was quite a thrill...live long and prosper Robby and I'll be looking to buy your new album when it hits the stores...

I've seen him live twice, and Robby is a true legend. This is amazing sounding. I will definitely get this.

This is awesome. I was looking through here for live performances of The Doors and I stumble on one of these guys playing Moonlight Drive live in New York on Jan 18, 1970. Just before the start of the performance the person filming gets a beautiful shot of a 3/4 Moon. Today is Jan 17, 2019 and its a 3/4 Moon as well, soon to become a Full Super Blood Wolf Moon. Just thought that was pretty cool and wanted to share.

Love the song and video. Robby is as good as anyone on the slide, and the musicians playing with him are fantastic. Peace, everyone.
