Want You More
Robert Palmer Lyrics

I know I won't get through to you
First a note, then a call
Only yesterday I was yours now
Every day I want you more.
Close my eyes, oh there you are
Stop before we go too far
Shouldn't dream that you're here because it
Only makes me want you more.
How could I forget you?
All the reasons we've seen through
Didn't see, never thought, no sense looking back because it
Only makes me want you more.
Our emotions in store,
All the time we're apart: ignore
It only makes me want you more.
Please don't think I never heard:
I remember every word
Every move I recall
Shouldn't dream that you're here at all it
Only makes me want you more.
Every day, hey, every room
Sadness makes the vainest fools
Whose to say what's in store?
Just remember I just adore you
Every day I want you more, oh.
The song "Want You More" by Robert Palmer explores the complicated emotions of a person who is deeply in love with someone who they are no longer with. The lyrics speak to the struggles of trying to move on after a break-up. The singer tries everything to reach out to their lover - calling, leaving notes, but nothing seems to work. They know they shouldn't think about their former lover, but no matter how hard they try, they can't help but feel drawn to them. The lyrics portray an intense longing for the past and a yearning to be reunited with the person.
As the song progresses, the singer reflects on the memories they have of their time together. They vividly remember every moment spent with their lover and can't help but want to return to that time. Despite the pain it causes them, they continue to hold on to the hope that they will be reunited someday. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the singer's constant yearning for their lost love.
Overall, the song captures the heartache and desperation of someone trying to move on from a relationship that they can't seem to forget. The lyrics are poignant and relatable, making it a powerful ballad that resonates with listeners.
