In 1984, Plant formed a short-lived all-star retro rock group with musicians Jimmy Page (also of Led Zeppelin), Jeff Beck, and Phil Collins called The Honeydrippers. The band had a Top Ten hit with their song "Sea of Love", a remake of the Phil Phillips' chestnut. Plant's also notably performed with Page in the outfit Page & Plant.
Plant's love of the music of Morocco led him to a new collaboration called Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation. The band's releases met with critical acclaim and numerous Grammy nominations. They completed a notable 2006 tour of Europe in September.
In 2007, Plant began recording and performing with American bluegrass star Alison Krauss. A duet album, Raising Sand, was released on 23 October 2007 on Rounder Records. The album, recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles and produced by T-Bone Burnett, met with enormous critical and commercial success. Tours have reached devoted audiences in multiple cities.
The year of 2010 proves to be yet another successful year for the lemon squeezer. During the summer, Plant will be reuniting with his old, Pre-Zep group, The Band Of Joy, for a tour of the southern and mid continental tour of the US.
In 2012 Robert Plant starts another band project going by the name Sensational Space Shifters releasing the live album Robert Plant Presents: Sensational Space Shifters. Along with Plant himself the band consists of Liam "Skin" Tyson, Justin Adams, Billy Fuller and John Baggot along with Dave Smith, Juldeh Camara and Patty Griffin.

Ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah I cried, babe,
I saw you in a movie
Or was it on my wall
I never dreamed you talk to me
I never dreamed at all
Ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah
You figured very strongly
You might have changed my life
For I was very young then
You came along just right
This is why I cried, oh-oh
Now you know I cried, oh-oh
Ah - ah - ah Ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah - ah - ah
Ah - ah - ah
I walked with Stella Stevens
My feet were off the ground
You talked of something permanent
When Saturday comes round
This is what I cried, oh-oh
This is why I cried, oh-oh
This is what I cried, oh-oh
Now you know I cried, ah
Ooh, now Kiss me 'till I'm crazy
C'mon tease me 'till I scream
Promise is a maybe
Running through my dreams
S' what I hear is .....
Suffer cross my room
Taste my whole confusion
Rescue from my gloom
This is what I cried, whoa
Now you know I cried, oh-oh
Your eyes are where the summer lives
In pools of quiet fire
Come mess with my sincerity
Go down on my desire,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I feast on your expression
The smile that tells it all
On my mind forever
Forever on my wall
This is what I cried, oh-oh
Now you know I cried, oh-oh
This is what I cried, oh-oh
This is what I cried
The song "I Cried" by Robert Plant is an emotional ballad about unrequited love and the pain of longing for someone who may not even know you exist. The lyrics describe the singer's love and admiration for a woman he has only seen on television or in posters on his wall. He never thought he would have the chance to talk to her, let alone be with her, and his heart fills with sadness and longing. Despite this, he continues to hold onto the hope that one day they will be together and shares his dreams and desires of what that would be like.
The lyrics paint a picture of a young man, full of hope and admiration, who is struggling to cope with the overwhelming emotions he feels for this woman. He remembers every detail of their interactions, however brief, and holds onto the promise of something deeper between them. He cries out in desperation for a love that may never come to fruition.
The chorus of "Ah - ah - ah, I cried, babe, Oh, I cried" is especially poignant in its simplicity and repetition, emphasizing the depth of the singer's sadness and the powerlessness he feels in the face of his unrequited love.
Overall, "I Cried" is a touching and relatable song that speaks to the universal experience of longing for someone out of reach.
