Cariño de locura
Rocio Jurado Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Pues me faltan tus brazos, tus labios, tu mirada,
Qué cariño de locura —locura—,
Es locura, corazón.
Tu cariño es mi ventura —ventura—
Y mi desesperación.
Es mi pena, es mi pena, mi martirio,
Mi agonía y me pesar,
Mi ternura, mi delirio,
Mi alegría y mi verdad.
Tu cariño me disloca —disloca—,
In the song "Cariño de locura" by Rocío Jurado, the lyrics convey the strong emotions and feelings of love and longing that the singer has for someone. The opening line of the song, "Pero cómo es posible que yo te quiera tanto" translates to "But how is it possible that I love you so much" which sets the tone for the rest of the song. The singer expresses the intensity of her love for this person, describing how her bones ache with desire for them and how she is constantly on the verge of tears in their absence.
Despite being surrounded by others, the singer feels utterly alone without the person she loves. She longs for their touch, their kiss, and their gaze - all of which bring her a sense of joy and relief from her inner turmoil. The love the two share is described as a "cariño de locura" which means a love that is both crazy and incredible. This love is simultaneously her happiness and her pain, her reason for living, and her source of suffering.
Overall, "Cariño de locura" is a powerful love song that captures the essence of intense emotions that come with being in love. It speaks to the longing, the passion, and the desperation that comes with having strong feelings for someone.

I cannot fathom the depth of my love for you,
My bones ache with the love I feel for you,
Every moment I am on the verge of tears,
When I don't see you, I feel like I'm dying.
Estoy sola, mi vida, estando acompañada,
I am alone, even when in company,
I swear to God I am lonelier than ever,
Pues me faltan tus brazos, tus labios, tu mirada,
I am missing your arms, your lips, your gaze,
And that invisible flame that burns us both.
Qué cariño de locura —locura—,
What a crazy love, crazy love,
Es locura, corazón.
It's madness, my love.
Tu cariño es mi ventura —ventura—
Your love is my luck,
Y mi desesperación.
And my despair.
Es mi pena, es mi pena, mi martirio,
It's my pain, my torture,
Mi agonía y mi pesar,
My agony and my sorrow,
Mi ternura, mi delirio,
My tenderness, my madness,
Mi alegría y mi verdad.
My joy and my truth.
Tu cariño me disloca —disloca—,
Your love drives me crazy, crazy,
Es un ciego frenesí,
It's a blind frenzy,
As I crave the kisses of your mouth,
Desde que te conocí.
Ever since I met you.
