Before Queen, Taylor founded Smile with Brian May. Smile released one album in Japan which is now available throughout the world as Ghost of a Smile. Smile wrote a few of the songs which would later appear on Queen's self-titled debut album, and one - Doin' Alright was featured on the Smile album.
Taylor also fronted another band, The Cross from 1987 to 1991. The first album, Shove it (1988) was a solo album by Taylor in all but name - he wrote all the songs and played most of the instruments himself. This was an experiment that didn't really work for Taylor and in the other two albums by The Cross he allowed the other members of the band to contribute more, resulting in more traditionally styled rock albums.
Out of the four original members of Queen Taylor and guitarist Brian May continued to play as Queen + Paul Rodgers between 2004 and 2008. Of the other original members singer Freddie Mercury tragically died in 1991 and bassist John Deacon retired from music business in the mid-1990's.
In 2009, after the partnership between him, Brian and Paul ended, Roger worked on some new solo material from which his single The Unblinking Eye (Everything is Broken) was digitally released at 23th November at Queenonline.com. At the moment it is unclear how the future of Queen will look like, though Roger has announced that he will do a short tour in the spring of 2010.
Future Management
Roger Taylor Lyrics

You'll find...
I'm gonna invite you to try my machines
Programme an offer you just can't refuse
I'm gonna invite you to share all my dreams
You've nothing to lose
Recycle your thoughts
I'll rewire your mind
To make sure you find
You've got nothing to lose
You don't need nobody else but me
The lyrics to Roger Taylor's song Future Management seem to speak of a futuristic society where machines and technology govern everything. The line "You won't need nobody else but me..." suggests that machines will become the only constant companions in the future, rather than human relationships. The chorus then invites the listener to try out and embrace these machines, with the lines "I'm gonna invite you to try my machines, Programme an offer you just can't refuse." It almost feels like an invitation to join in on an experiment, with promises of a new, exciting way of life.
The last few lines of the song, "Recycle your thoughts, I'll rewire your mind, I'll punch in some new points of view, To make sure you find, You've got nothing to lose, You don't need nobody else but me" further illustrate this theme of a society overtaken by machines. It's as though Taylor's character (or the machines he represents) is offering to "upgrade" human thought and perspective. The idea of recycling thoughts and rewiring minds evokes the image of people becoming like cogs in a machine, constantly being tweaked and modified to fit the needs of society. Ultimately, the song seems to suggest that in a world run by machines, we may not need other people, but we'll need to constantly adapt to keep up with the ever-evolving technological landscape.

Roger knows hes a good looking man for sure, but he never came across as arrogrant or self centred. god he must have broken countless hearts in his younger days though.
I see him now as a distiguised older gentleman, but hes never lost that beautiful voice, or that mischevous twinkle in his eye
