At the age of 14, Ron. D started rapping after being inspired by his older bother and mentor Reese as well as Chicago rapper J. Seuss. In 2001 Ron.D took his passion for rap further and formed a rap group with 4 of his childhood friends called "Donizm". Donizm went on to release two mixtapes, "Get Doe (2003)" & "Dead Presidents (2004)". The group disassembled shortly after. If life in Detroit couldn't get any worse, Ron.D's biggest influence, his big brother Reese, passed away. Feeling like he couldn't move on Ron. D dropped out of school and soon after moved to Atlanta in 2005.
While in Atlanta, Ron.D hooked up with artists from all over the United States to form the rap group "The Empire". The Empire released two mixtapes "We don't strike back we strike first (2005)" & "Hate it or Love it (2006)". After having some personal and managerial issues with The Empire Ron.D, returned to Detroit in 2007 with little to no hope in pursuing a musical career.
In 2011, an almost 4 year break from music, Ron.D was ready to jump back in and give rapping all he has. He teamed up with the legendary producer/engineer P. Gruv and became a part of the J Dilla "the Rebirth of Detroit" project. With this new relationship Ron. D decided that he would either tackle the rap game head on or he would never touch the mic again. This new lease on life birthed his highly anticipated debut solo mix tape "Now or Neva." You can now experience his life and love on every track...

Dog kept on barking chasing cars passing by
Lady sat silently like a good women should
She kept telling herself that life was so good
Man picks up his brown paper bag
Gets up and slowly walks away
Lady leans out the window and says where you going
The man turns around and screams women won't you leave me alone
If she only knew she's living in hell
Sometime late in the morning
Stares up at the clock she starts a wondering
Did he really go and leave me this time
Oh she starts to cry
She hears him stumbling rumbling up the stairs
She feels the anger inside her but all she does is stare
She won't say nothing she don't want to start a fight
She don't feel like getting beat up tonight
Such a good life
She's living a good life
Keeps telling herself that it's a good life
Oh she's living a good life
Sure yeah right
The lyrics of Ron.D's song Good Life paint a picture of a woman who is living in a dreadful situation, but she keeps convincing herself that life is good. The song starts by describing a man standing quietly and a dog barking while a lady is silently sitting, trying to convince herself that everything is fine. She repeats to herself the phrase "life is so good," although the reality is the opposite. The man picks up his things and walks away, while the lady is left wondering where he's going.
Later in the morning, the lady hears the man stumbling and coming up the stairs, and the anger inside her starts to grow. However, she refrains from saying anything as she doesn't want to start a fight and risk getting beaten up that night. The lady keeps repeating the phrase "living a good life," but it's clear that the situation is unbearable, and she's just trying to convince herself that everything is okay.
Overall, the song portrays the common problem of people living in toxic relationships but believing that their lives are good. The lyrics raise awareness about the need to recognize unhealthy relationships and situations in our lives and make changes.
