Rosendale released his debut EP (the "Fairytale EP") in May of 2017, which earned him his first million of combined streams on Spotify. The lead single, "Fairytale," explores topics of identity and self-discovery and features his unique vocal style combined with catchy house production. He continues to chase his goal of inspiring other Asian American artists and performers to forge their own paths and to be whoever they want to be.

The chorus of the song talks about how they are hooked on the person's poison and how the flavors are amazing. This could represent how the relationship may be destructive, but they can't seem to resist each other.
In the second verse, the artist talks about how he is sipping from his cup full of the person's drug and how he can't seem to find the antidote. This could represent how he is addicted to this person and can't seem to break free, even though he knows it may not be good for him. He also mentions how the person is taking him places he shouldn't go, which could represent how they are leading him down a dangerous path. The artist also mentions how they don't get along, but he still wants to take them home, indicating that the relationship is toxic, but he can't seem to let go.
