I'm The Wolf Man
Round Robin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I gotta funny kind of feeling comin' in my eyes
My hairs getting long and my eyes turn blue
I got long hair growing on my fingers too
Well I jump in the car and I drive down the street
I got long foul paws on my hands and feet
I just ride around the highway and the moon is blue
But tonight I'm comin' after you (sweet thing)
I'm a Wolfman baby
And if you see me on the prowl
Watch it when you hear me growl
Well I climb tall buildings and I pull down trees
I chase little bears and I sting the bees
Well baby don't you scream when I hold you tight
I'm gonna win your love tonight
The lyrics to Round Robin's song "I'm the Wolf Man" describe the singer's transformation into a werewolf. The lyrics refer to the full moon rising and a strange feeling coming over him, indicating the beginning of his transformation. The singer describes growing long hair on his hands and fingers and developing foul paws on his hands and feet. He also mentions chasing little bears and stinging bees, indicating the animalistic instincts he now possesses. At the end of the song, the singer expresses his desire to win his love's heart despite his werewolf transformation.
The song can be interpreted in a few different ways, but the most common interpretation is that the transformation into a werewolf is a metaphor for a man becoming more aggressive or dominant in a romantic relationship. The "wolf man" is able to climb tall buildings and pull down trees, displaying his strength and power. However, this transformation also comes with a warning - the singer advises his love interest to "watch it when you hear me growl", implying that he may become dangerous or unpredictable. Overall, the song can be seen as a warning about the danger of toxic masculinity and aggressive behaviors in relationships.

Wow! Let's just say, I was not expecting something like this. I know rockabilly tends to be "rough", but this is stranger than normal. This is almost like garage rock mixed with surf rock and rockabilly.
