Roxy Music became a successful act in Europe and Australia during the 1970s. This success began with their self-titled debut studio album in 1972. The band pioneered more musically sophisticated elements of glam rock while significantly influencing early English punk music, and provided a model for many new wave acts while innovating elements of electronic composition. The group also conveyed their distinctive brand of visual and musical sophistication with their focus on glamorous fashions. Ferry and co-founding member Eno have had influential solo careers. Eno became one of the most significant British record producers of the late 20th century. Rolling Stone originally ranked Roxy Music No. 98 on their greatest artists list ("The Immortals – The 100 Greatest Artists of All Time"), but dropped the group from the list when they updated it in 2011.
Roxy Music's final studio album was Avalon (1982), which was certified Platinum in the United States. In 2005, the band began recording what would have become their ninth studio album—and their first album with Eno since 1973 (he wrote two songs for it and also played keyboards). However, Ferry eventually announced that the material from these sessions would instead be released as a Ferry solo studio album, with Eno playing on "a couple of tracks", and that he believed the group would never again produce a record as Roxy Music. The album was released in 2010 as the Ferry solo studio album Olympia. It featured contributions from Eno, Manzanera, and Mackay (amongst many other session players).
In 2011, Roxy Music played a series of 40th-anniversary shows, but went inactive as a performing entity following the concerts. In 2019, Roxy Music were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In 2022, Roxy Music reformed for a tour to mark the 50th anniversary of their debut studio album.

Roxy Music Lyrics

And my heart was beating fast.
I began to lose control,
I began to lose control.
I didn't mean to hurt you.
I'm sorry that I made you cry.
Oh no, I didn't mean to hurt you.
I'm just a jealous guy.
I was feeling insecure you might not love me anymore.
I was shivering inside,
I was shivering inside.
I didn't mean...
I was trying to catch your eyes,
though that you was trying to hide.
I was swallowing my pain,
I was swallowing my pain.
I didn't mean...
The lyrics of the song "Jealous Guy" by Roxy Music describe a man who is consumed by jealousy and struggling to control it, ending up hurting the one he loves. The song begins with the singer dreaming of the past, and his heart beating fast. He begins to lose control, realizing the pain he has caused the person he loves. The singer is apologizing for making her cry, admitting that he was jealous and didn't mean to hurt her. He realizes that his behavior was wrong and is asking for forgiveness.
The second verse shows the singer feeling insecure, wondering if the person he loves still loves him. He is shivering inside, feeling vulnerable and consumed by his fear of losing her. He tries to catch her eye, but it seems as though she is trying to hide something from him. Despite the intense pain that he is feeling, he is still swallowing it, not wanting to hurt her anymore. Overall, the song is a poignant portrayal of how love and jealousy can both intertwine and damage a relationship.

The best cover version of this song ever. Not just Bryan's singing, but the whole act - gestures, face expressions, whistling... The guitar solo deserves appreciation on its own. A true masterpiece.

Estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo!. Es mas.! Me tomaría la licencia para decir que es mejor que la versión original! Saludos desde Buenos Aires!

@@adriangabrielzancada1173 it's much better than the original in my opinion. Although I respect original version too (and without it there would't be this wonderful masterpiece), but anything musical touched by Bryan Ferry kinda turns into gold, such a smooth operator he is. 😍
