Time to Make a Change
Ryan McMullan Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm waisting my time
I'm waisting my breath
Unburry my soul
To a mind that could care less
But in a way, somehow it all makes sense
Most nights it's a blessing
And I drink my way through the rest
Now, good Lord, it's time to make a change
Now now now, good Lord, it's time to make a change
I'm standing at a crossroad
And I don't know which path to take
One handing out you, babe
And at the other I'm such a mess
There's gotta be another way
I don't want to walk alone
Cause life without you babe
Know that it no life alone
Now now now now, good Lord
It's time to make a change
Now now now now, good Lord
It's time to make a change
And when it all comes done
You'll be there to break my fall
And I don't know where I'd be without you, yeah
Will you be in my life at all
Good Lord

It's time to make a change

on If This Is The End

This song is probably the saddest song ever written. I first heard it after a dear friend lost her significant other to Covid. She couldn't visit him. He would call her and beg her to come see him. He was hospitalized for 30 days and passed away on the 31st day. I'll never forget the sound of her voice when she called to tell me. She couldn't speak but I knew. I cannot listen to this song without thinking about their situation. And I cry every time.
