Whilst not credited on any Queen album, Spike Edney toured with them and played additional instruments, usually more or less hidden at the back of the stage. Whilst usually a keyboard player, if I recall correctly, he appears on guitar during 'Hammer to fall' on Queen's 'Live at Wembley' DVD.
Spike Edney has played keyboards on most solo albums and tours for Brian May and Roger Taylor. Recently he toured with Queen + Paul Rodgers.
"Spike's All Stars" were formed in the 90s as a charity band. The band consists of a farly fluid lineup of instrumentallists from reasonably well known bands. Concerts usually feature a number of different celebrity vocallists, including Chris Thompson, Fish, Leo Sayer, Roger Taylor, Tony Hadley, Mark Shaw, the late Paul Young (Sad Cafe, Mike and the Mechanics) and Paul Young (the other one). These vocallists usually sing one or two of their own songs or famous cover versions.
The SAS band have released two albums to date, the first is a self-titled studio album from 2000 and the second, 'The Show' (2001) is a live album. Of these, the second is generally considered to be the better album, even if Leo Sayer does murder 'My Generation' and Tony Hadley destroys Queen's 'Hammer to fall'.
