In Sakura Fujiwara's song "Twilight," the singer expresses her longing for a person she used to be close to. She says how she still thinks about their meetings as she rides the subway, and how she gets irritated when she comes close to the restaurant that reminds her of him, even though she tries to avoid it. She feels that nothing she does can fill the emotional void left by their separation. When she indulges in small things such as trimming her hair or wearing new clothes, she is reminded of the past events, and she wishes that she could go back and do things differently.
The singer hints at having written a letter to the person she misses, and she entreats him to read it when he is alone in the dark. She realizes that one can never really tell how much somebody means to them until they are gone, and she feels that it is better to take risks and confess feelings rather than to live with regrets. The singer may be leaving behind the night, but she hopes that she can meet the person of her dreams in the morning light.
