Today this song came on when I was looking at photos of myself at my heaviest weight and I remember hating myself. I never took photos of myself and never looked in the mirror. Now I enjoy taking photos of myself now and when I look at myself in the mirror I’m a lot happier and starting to love myself.

I'm 41 and still learning to love myself. It is so hard when you are told every day you are ugly and no one will ever love you. I thought I found that one who would love me more but then his love for drugs was much more. Now I'm on my own trying to understand why his love disappeared for me. Sam Smith has one of the best voices in music over the last decade. The emotion he’s able to convey in his music is something to behold. I make hip-hop music for a very small audience, but I still get influenced by talented artists like Sam when I’m thinking of ways to innovate my sound. Through out this self-love journey, I've lost myself to find myself. My hopes all shattered because I thought I finally had it all together: love, friendship but no. Turns out, it's all an illusion. Then I have to get myself together, all over again. Eventually I realize that this journey has no ending. It just keeps going on and on. And every day, I will start to love myself a lil bit more. Hiya! Sorry for venting over here, but i’m just hoping that maybe someone else reads these lines and relates, thereby feel less alone in this world. I’ve been feeling a bit lost in life lately as i’m coming to my 25th soon and haven’t really achieved anything memorable yet. Been struggling with anxiety and stress from swapping between work and uni, having constant fights at home and going through a heartbreak. I remember when my math teacher told me after class that the sparkles in my eyes are gone. That was a few years ago. Been trying to get them back, but damn they’re good at hide and seek lmao. Looking in the mirror been indeed difficult, cause mostly i just see failure. But i know one day i’ll wake up, look at myself and feel nothing else but pride. For not giving up. For remaining patient. And for allowing growth to come to me, even if it was at such awful shapes. That day will be the day when i’ll win my hide and seek battle. And i just hope you will all experience the same. Because i’m sure you all have sparkles hiding somewhere (or already found). I also just wanted to say that i’m not usually a negative energy lmao, so sorry if this turned a bit depressive, i’m actually a lil goofball, so if any of you would ever want to play some games together (valorant, dbd, apex or anything really) i’d be more than happy.
