Marie
Sanson Véronique Lyrics

Qu’est-ce qui t’amène ici
Alors tu l’aimes toujours
Est-ce tu l’aimes d’amour
Mais Marie
Oh il y a maldonne
Je te l’ai pas volé, c’est ton homme
Alors qu’est-ce qui t’amène ici
Marie
Il était seul au monde
Et en quelques secondes
Je l’ai voulu si fort
Mais Marie
Oh il y a maldonne
Je te l’ai pas volé, c’est ton homme à toi
Alors ne te bats pas pour rien
Lui
Son humour en or
Ses îles au trésor
Ses combats stériles
Oh je l’aime
Lui
Qui m’hallucinait
Qui me désirait
D’un amour avide
Oh je l’aime, oh je l’aime
Oh Marie je l’aime
Qu’est-ce que tu fais ici
Est-ce que tu l’aimes aussi
Est-ce que tu l’aimes encore
Marie
Qu’est-ce que tu fais ici
Est-ce que tu l’aimes, tu l’aimes aussi
Est-ce que tu l’aimes, tu l’aimes encore
Marie
On était seuls au monde
Et en quelques secondes
On s’est voulus, voulus si fort
Marie
On était seuls au monde…
The lyrics of the song "Marie" by Sanson Véronique express a complex emotional dilemma involving a love triangle. The singer, Marie, confronts another woman who has appeared unexpectedly. Marie questions her motives for being there and wonders if she still loves the man they both share. She asserts that she did not steal him away and asks why the other woman has come to confront her.
Marie then reflects on her own relationship with the man, emphasizing that he was alone in this world before she came into his life. She passionately declares her strong desire for him and asserts that she did not steal him away from the other woman. Marie urges the woman not to fight needlessly, indicating that she is committed to their relationship.
The song continues with the perspective shifting to the man in question, who is characterized as having a golden sense of humor, a treasure trove of islands, and engaging in futile battles. It is clear that the singer deeply loves him, emphasizing his allure and desire for her. She repeats this affirmation, expressing her love for him, addressing Marie.
The chorus is repeated, with Marie questioning the other woman's presence and whether she still loves the man. The song concludes with both Marie and the other woman professing their intense love for the man and acknowledging that they both wanted him so strongly, almost instantly, when they were alone in the world.
Overall, "Marie" explores the complexities of love, desire, and possession within a love triangle, as the singer grapples with the presence of another lover and the shared emotions tied to their mutual connection to the man in question.
