Rollercoaster

Where highs are Heaven
But the lows, oh they can be hell
You can grab the ring,
You can ring that bell
When the ride is over
You can never tell
Will make your life complete
So you, you give it everything you′ve got
And you wind up on the street
Then one day you wake up
And they tell you "you're a queen"
But then you find that someone else
Is pulling all the strings
Rollercoaster, carousel
Where the highs are Heaven
But the lows oh they can be hell
You can grab the ring,
You can ring that bell
When the ride is over
You can never tell
The one you love, they love you
Oh yeah, until the end of time
But lose your edge or lose your cool
They will drop you like a dime
Everyone is crowding ′round
When fortune is your friend
But when your luck is running out
You're all alone again
Rollercoaster, carousel
Where the highs are Heaven
But the lows oh they can be hell
You can grab the ring,
You can ring that bell
When the ride is over
You can never tell
Well maybe I'm just cynical
And all these words are lies
Experience keeps telling me
That the cautious one is wise
The caution makes you hesitate
And hesitate you′re lost
So take your opportunities
And never count the cost
Rollercoaster, carousel
Where the highs are Heaven
But the lows oh they can be hell
You can grab the ring,
You can ring that bell
When the ride is over, over, over
You can never, ever tell
Rollercoaster, carousel
Rollercoaster yeah, yeah, yeah, carousel
Carousel, carousel
Carousel, carousel
The song "Rollercoaster" by Sara Ramírez is a commentary on the unpredictability and volatility of life. The lyrics compare life to a rollercoaster, a constantly shifting ride full of ups and downs. The highs are exhilarating and feel like Heaven, while the lows can be devastating and feel like Hell. The song warns about the dangers of putting all of one's hopes and dreams into one thing, whether it is a person or a career. The lyrics caution that even the things that have brought us up can suddenly drop us down, leaving us alone.
The lyrics also touch on the fickleness of relationships. The song talks about being loved by someone until the end of time, but warns that losing your edge or your cool will cause them to leave you without a second thought. The chorus of the song repeats the metaphor of the rollercoaster and the carousel, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of life.

It's not Callie, it's Sara Ramirez. She is actually first, a very accomplished Broadway musician / vocalist. She then got the Callie part.
