After some celebrated live performances, they released the double A side "Savages" in May 2012, followed by the live EP "I Am Here" in October. They released the first album "Silence Yourself" on May 6th, 2013 through Matador Records.
"The answer" promo video, was released on October 2015. It was announced that the 10-track second album, "Adore Life", would be released on January 22, 2016.
There is another artist with the same name:
2) Savages is an electronic musician from Hungary, born in 1981 in Balassagyarmat and currently living in Budapest. He had classic musical education and played on trumpet for about 7 years, and then he got his first PC.
It was a turning-point and from that moment he was much more interested in making music with computers. His early demo tapes were inspired by the rave era and after the end of this period he became ‘more’ serious and open-minded to other musical styles like jazz, funk, soul, contemporary, etc.
Savages released his solo debut album (Five Finger Discount) in 2008 through Chameleon Records. In the same year he met Suefo (also a member of Vono Box) and they started working together on tracks and remixes. Since then they did remixes for !DelaDap, [dunkelbunt], Max Pashm, Rube, Kid Loco, [re:jazz], Danilo Venturi to name a few. The two members came from the same eclectic music scene of Budapest. They play downtempo, breaks, jazz, funk, hip-hop, dub, electro swing and all kinds of multikulti folk in their dj sets and they incorporate the same variety in their own music as well. These days they’re busy working on some new remixes and organising new clubnights to promote electroswing phenomena in Hungary.
City’s Full

Honestly, I just wanna go down
Try to pretend there's nothing wild
Why do you treat yourself so bad
City's full of
City's full of
City's full of
Your serious eyes dehumanize
What you wanted, what you wanted was never sad
So, who blew the flames out of your eyes?
Why do you treat yourself so bad?
City's full of
City's full of
City's full of
Sissy, pretty, love yeah
Oh, oh, woah, yeah, woah
City's full of
Sissy, pretty, love, yeah
City's full of sissy pretty love
Sissy, pretty, love
Sissy, pretty, love, yeah
I love the stretch marks
On your thighs
I love the wrinkles
Around your eyes
I take you out darling
We dance all night
But when comes sunlight
You say
I'm going back home, oh!
City's full of
Sissy, pretty, love yeah
City's full of sissy, pretty, love
Sissy, pretty, love
Sissy, pretty, love, yeah
The lyrics to Savages' "City's Full" touch on themes of distorted self-image, societal expectations, and the pressure to conform. The opening lines highlight the prevalence of thin and conventionally attractive women in the city, with the singer acknowledging their desire towards them. However, the following lines suggest that the pressure to fit into societal norms causes internal conflict, and the singer tries to suppress their wild impulses.
The chorus "City's full of, sissy pretty love" calls out the artificiality of society's standards of beauty, as well as the expectation for men to conform to masculinity norms. The use of the word "sissy" here is deliberate, challenging the notion that vulnerability and sensitivity are weaknesses. The line "Your serious eyes dehumanize" points to the emotional distance people create as a defense mechanism to fit into these norms.
The final verse juxtaposes the earlier objectification of the skinny pretty girls with an appreciation for imperfections, suggesting a personal preference for authenticity and realness. However, this is contrasted with the reality that societal expectations, often internalized, ultimately drive people back to conformity, as the last line "I'm going back home" implies.
