Scaramouche Lyrics

Words and music by freddie mercury
Is this the real life
Is this just fantasy
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy,i need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come,easy go,
A little high,little low,
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me,
To me

Mama,just killed a man,
Put a gun against his head,
Pulled my trigger,now he's dead,
Mama,life had just begun,
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama ooh,
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on,carry on,as if nothing really matters

Too late,my time has come,
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time,
Goodbye everybody I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama ooh (Any way the wind blows)
I don't want to die,
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

I see a little silhouetto of a man,
Scaramouche, Scaramouche will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening me
Galileo, Galileo,
Galileo, Galileo
Galileo Figaro, magnifico
But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go,will you let me go
Bismillah, no,we will not let you go, let him go
Bismillah, we will not let you go, let him go
Bismillah, we will not let you go, let me go
Will not let you go, let me go
Will not let you go, let me go
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me,for me,for me

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby, can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here

Nothing really matters,
Anyone can see,
Nothing really matters, nothing really matters to me,

Any way the wind blows

The Bohemian Rhapsody references he has so far that I can counr at the top of my head;

1) His name. (I know its from commedia dell arte, but BR's iconic part has the "Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the fandango?" line)
2) "Ominous Fandango" is the name of his OST when he appears in the game for the first time during the Unreconciled Stars event.
3) "Any Way The Wind Blows" is his character demo name.
4) "I wish I had never been born at all" is a direct quote from the song AND his character demo (which is one of the most important parts of the song as well because literally everyone I know, and myself included, SCREAMS that part in tears when it comes up)
5) His design reveal was on October 30th, the aniversary of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Bohemian Rhapsody Boy, my beloved...

Rain of Time

(spoilers for the new interlude quest!)

I feel like 2:08 -2:21 "Goodbye everybody, I've got to go / Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth" can also represent when Scaramouche entered Irminsul and effectively erased himself from history; he left everybody behind, but in the end, he had to face the truth of his sins anyway as the Wanderer.

(EDIT: I was watching the 1.1 Unreconciled Stars event again and realized he also said "Time for me to go out and find the truth" at the end, probably also in reference to these lyrics LMAO.)

Fun fact: the name of the song that played when we very first met scara back in 1.1 was literally called “Ominous Fandango”

@Proud Otaku it's also the title of his boss fight's soundtrack
btw: "will you do the fandango?" at this song often interpret as the chaotic movements the hanged man does with his legs while agonizing. So...

Can’t believe I haven’t seen anyone that pointed out that “no escape from reality” can easily hint at Scaramouche’s attempt to remove himself from history

Nightlight

That’s genius
