Full Moon Blackout
Scared Of Chaka Lyrics

On nostalgic afternoons
Playground swingsets
The vacant lots and booze
Full moon blackouts
Will knock me out real soon
Rooftop lamenting
Take it down pass it around uh huh
Push it on the envelope of sound
A local freight train rider
Took the chance to prove
That when the whistle blows
I'll be just like you
Just like your first kiss
In your middle school
I lost my innocence
When I saw you
In "Full Moon Blackout," Scared of Chaka expresses a sense of frustration with the cliched ways in which people often choose to spend their time, bemoaning the "nostalgic afternoons" spent reminiscing and getting drunk in empty lots. The song seems to be urging the listener towards something more exciting and adventurous, as represented by "full moon blackouts" that threaten to overwhelm the singer, and the rooftop scenes of "lamenting" and "moves." Despite the potential risks, the song seems to suggest that this kind of risk-taking is preferable to the dull and stagnant life of the swingset and ghostly playgrounds.
