Simple
Schérazade Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

An emotion
beating in my tears
But we are not allowed
to be sad and lonely
Just pretending to be
And this world is just a scene
Everything for the money
Oh lord i try to be

I try to be simple
But i’m too emotional
I try to be humble
But it seems unnatural
I try to be simple
Everything about chemical
The faith is the a combo
I try to be simple
I try to be simple

Would somebody Help me
My belief Gonna kill
Every time too busy
To Glitter in unreal unreal
Gold for a moment
Hunted or Hunter
Our mind so ignorant
When the crimes are convictions
I try to be simple
But i’m too emotional
I try to be humble but it seems unnatural
I try to be simple
Everything about chemical
The faith is the combo

I try to be simple
I try to be simple

Overall Meaning

In the first verse of the song "Simple" by Schérazade, the lyrics evoke a feeling of deep emotion struggling to break through the facades and pretenses that society imposes on individuals. The singer expresses a sense of being restricted from openly showing sadness or loneliness, instead needing to maintain a façade of happiness and composure. The mention of everything being driven by money hints at a superficial and materialistic world where authenticity is sacrificed for appearances. Despite these challenges, the singer acknowledges their efforts to stay true to themselves and their emotions, seeking simplicity amidst the complexities of the world.

The chorus highlights the internal conflict faced by the singer, torn between the desire to be straightforward and the overwhelming surge of emotions within. They strive to embody simplicity and humility, yet find themselves grappling with the weight of their feelings that seem to go against these ideals. The reference to everything being chemical suggests a scientific or biological basis for these emotional struggles, hinting at a deeper, intrinsic complexity to human experiences. The mention of faith as a combo alludes to the intertwining of belief systems with personal struggles, adding another layer of depth to the theme of seeking simplicity in a convoluted world.

The second verse delves further into the singer's internal turmoil and their plea for assistance in navigating the challenges they face. The lyrics touch upon the conflict between personal beliefs and external pressures that threaten to erode their sense of self. The imagery of being too busy chasing transient pleasures and glittering illusions reflects a sense of disconnection from reality and a yearning for something more genuine. The metaphor of being either hunted or hunter conveys a sense of vulnerability and aggression existing side by side within the human psyche, further emphasizing the complexity and contradictions inherent in human nature.

In the final repetition of the chorus, the singer reiterates their struggle to maintain simplicity and authenticity in a world fraught with distractions and conflicting emotions. The recurring theme of trying to be humble and simple underscores the ongoing battle between staying true to oneself and grappling with the various external forces that threaten to derail this pursuit. The reference to crimes and convictions hints at a moral and ethical dimension to the singer's struggles, suggesting a constant negotiation between personal integrity and societal expectations. Overall, the lyrics of "Simple" paint a poignant picture of a soul grappling with the complexities of human experience, yearning for authenticity amidst a world filled with artifice and superficiality.

wow !

@Schérazade.
All the best : joies, paix et – prosaïquement – succès public.
