Overall Meaning

Scooter’s song “The First Time” is a romantic song that tells the story of a person encountering their lover and the feeling of love at first sight. The repetition of the lyrics “The first time, I've ever seen this place/The first time, I ever saw your face” emphasizes how significant and special that moment was for the singer. The repetition also highlights the idea that love can bloom unexpectedly and suddenly, catching the person off guard. The excitement and wonder of this moment is further expressed through the repetition of the chorus “The first time.”

The lyrics suggest that the singer is experiencing a new place and new love simultaneously, as they note “The first time, I’ve ever seen this place.” This highlights the idea that love can change a person’s perspective and experience of the world around them. The focus on this one moment, the first time they saw their lover’s face, implies that the rest of the world fades away and becomes insignificant when love is involved. The singer is solely focused on their new love.

The song creates a sense of nostalgia and longing for that first moment and the feelings that came with it. The repetition of the lyrics serves as a reminder of the importance of that first meeting and how it has greatly impacted the singer's life. “The First Time” captures the beauty of love at first sight and the power it has to change someone's life forever.

I used to listen to this to calm myself down when I was going through a nervous crisis back when I was a kid! Scooter, come back!

@rcs2003

One of the BEST scooter singles. Probably the best. Pure trance from their best album that called "Wicked" paired with Coldwater canyon. Oh man those tracks are so perfectly arranged. Rick J. Jordan was a godsend genius at the time.
I remember when bought from my classmate the album "Our Happy Hardcore" around 2000, on cassette (haha). I didnt had cd player or internet at the time and searched that album for a long time, with no luck. On of the most happiest moment in my life when heard the first sounds of it. Never forget that feeling. Nowadays music loosing its value because the amount of cultural trash is INSANE

@hinsen

This is a cover and includes samples of other songs as well as most of Scooter's songs (e.g. vocal Roberta Flack The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face ). But a well-arranged mix of Rave with Dream Dance /Trance.
