As Far As I Know
Sean Stemaly Lyrics

Never thought about getting out
I can't imagine a better town
This is all there is
As far as I know
Old buddies and cold beer
Backroad to anywhere
It's got all I need
As far as I know

But if she takes it through the red light
And hangs right
She's probably just headed to her mama's
And if she takes a left turn by the big church
There's a 50-50 chance of where she's going
I know where one road goes and the other I don't
I just hope the county line is as far as she goes
'Cause that's about as far as I know

Can't think of nothin' that would be worse
Than the thought of me losing her
'Cause she's the best there is
As far as I know

But if she takes it through the red light
And hangs right
She's probably just headed to her mama's
And if she takes a left turn by the big church
There's a 50-50 chance of where she's going
I know where one road goes and the other I don't
I just hope the county line is as far as she goes
Yeah, 'cause that's about as far as I know

As long as she stays on a two-lane
I'll know what to do
But if her wheels ever hit that interstate
I won't have a clue

But if she takes it through the red light
And hangs right
She's probably just headed to her mama's
And if she takes a left turn by the big church
There's a 50-50 chance of where she's going
I know where one road goes and the other I don't
Yeah, one will bring her back and the other one won't
I just hope the county line is as far as she goes

'Cause that's about as far as I know
That's about as far as I know

Overall Meaning

The song "As Far As I Know" by Sean Stemaly is a song about contentment with one's current situation but also the fear of losing what one has. Stemaly sings about being satisfied with his small town life, where he has old buddies, cold beer, and everything he needs. He cannot imagine a better town, and he has no desire to leave. However, the chorus reveals his anxiety about his girlfriend, who could be leaving him. He doesn't know where she's going, but he hopes she doesn't go too far because he doesn't know what he would do without her.

The lyrics of the song detail the conflict between the comfort and familiarity of one's current situation and the fear of uncertainty and the unknown. Stemaly is content with his life, but he is afraid of losing his girlfriend, and he doesn't know what he would do if she were to leave. He is also afraid of the uncertainty that comes with not knowing where she is going.

The song is an ode to small-town life, and the lyrics are relatable to anyone who has ever been afraid to lose someone or has felt the comfort and safety of the familiar. It is a sentimental ballad that captures the essence of the human experience.

Writing is always alot of work and to make alot and get alot of promotions sometimes you have to write a lot of thing's. It's always worth it though in many ways.

It takes time. I heard some chicken say ... Why do the good ones never get noticed? Was that supposed to be some kind of positive comment from that girl? It takes time. Could you imagine the emotions Sean's been threw. Because there are no garrenteees for anyone. I believe Sean knows hard work. To leave everything family friends owner of a company. And just leave it all. What a guy. I'd say playing at the Ford center with Justin Moore had to be quite a thrill.
