I feel like the Try Wives and their respective Guys are examples of types of couples/couple tropes
Ned and Ariel: Lovey Dovey couple, like they were always meant to be
Zach and Maggie: Casual couple who you can third-wheel with and not feel left out
Eugene and Matt: Two “lone wolves” who become inseparable when put together

Tbh the Try Wives or Try Partners have their own charm. I mean yes in some ways they are well matched with their partners and share similar outlooks and mannerisms.
For example, Ariel has similar mannerisms as Ned like she can be just as competitive, but also such a warm caring maternal figure. However, she also balances out Ned..she’s not one to go for the bad ideas typically cleaning up after Ned’s bad ideas or laughing at him. She’s actually pretty creative and seems good at everything (there are some videos where she even rivals Eugene or give Eugene vibes when it comes to challenges.) We also find out many other things about her through the “YOU CAN’T SIT WITH US” podcasts.
Maggie is a genuinely sweet person, but I also love how she can be absolutely savage in her own way. An absolutely pretty sweet savage..haha!
Becky in some ways seems like a mix of Eugene (her bff) and Keith (husband), but she is also her own person. Becky is Becky as we all learn about her through the podcasts as well. I love her stories and her opinions about things, she’s hilarious.
Matt isn’t so much in front of the cameras like the others, but you can also see that he perfectly balances out Eugene. I love his calm demeanor, but we can also see how close and supportive he is towards everybody..the Try Guys, try wives, the staff, and etc. everybody loves matt too.
