Navegar
Sergio Y Estibaliz Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Sergio y Estíbaliz's song "Navegar" depict a love story that has come to an end. The singer, who has loved their significant other deeply, now finds themselves defeated, abandoned and lost. It seems as if their love was a fleeting one, carried by a pirate ship without a flag, stealing hearts at night. Despite being held captive by the love shared between them, the singer feels as if they are sailing blindly. Their relationship is a wooden boat playing with everything they have, and as they drift aimlessly, the singer feels as if they are dying alone.

The chorus repeats the metaphor of sailing, indicating the singer's thoughts about a love that was both hopeful and chaotic. The singer's heart remains broken, and the pain seems to follow them from port to port. The love affair that started like a mad sea reaching towards the sky has finally ended, and the singer is left alone to sail without a captain, a map, or a destination. The final chorus repeats the metaphor of 'navegar' to reinforce the idea of love as a journey, where one can only play with the winds and hope for the best.
