Zombie
Sewerperson & Eric Godlow Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Bones
I can′t use no more
My vein cold like snow
It don't feel like no home
I walk in too slow
She scream at my face
She can′t love me like before
It all worked so well
We both worked so well
But now flesh rots off the bones
I can't do no more
My brain cold like snow
It don't feel like no home

Shawty I thought you was mine, this not fair
Don′t you be checking my house, I′m not there
Flesh drips off me when I move fast outta my hair
Maybe if we quarantine properly this bullshit wouldn't be here
I know I been looking different as of late but you shouldn′t be scared
I could see dead skin flying off me into the air
I remember when this shit had started out cases back then were rare
Baby, take down the barricade, I just wanna ear my share
You ain't see no ghost
I come back a zombie, yeah
Tank, jockey
Even this with beside me
Halo
You cannot keep your halo
I cannot feel no pain it doesn′t matter how my day go
Fold me up

Bones
I can't use no more
My vein cold like snow
It don′t feel like no home
I walk in too slow
She scream at my face
She can't love me like before
It all worked so well
We both worked so well
But now flesh rots off the bones
I can't do no more

My brain cold like snow
It don′t feel like no home

Overall Meaning

The song "Zombie" by Sewerperson & Eric Godlow features the repeated chorus "Bones, I can't use no more, my vein cold like snow, it don't feel like no home." The first verse describes a deteriorating relationship where the singer's partner can no longer love him like before. The second verse suggests the possibility of the singer being infected with a virus or disease. He feels different and can see his own dead skin flying off him into the air. The song ends with a repeated chorus describing how the flesh rots off the bones and the brain feels cold like snow.

The chorus "Bones, I can't use no more, my vein cold like snow, it don't feel like no home" can be interpreted as a reference to feeling numb and disconnected from life, almost like being a walking corpse. The imagery of the flesh rotting off the bones and the brain feeling cold like snow also adds a sense of decay and disconnection. The second verse hints that the singer may be experiencing symptoms of a virus or disease, which could relate to feelings of depression or anxiety.

To be honest, i don't say it often, but this song is heavy... in a good way, ofc! It is hard to listen to this kind of songs, but u cannot stop listening to them, cuz they hit close to home and u feel some sort of relief while listening, so u go on and on...
