And every night he'll push his way past twisted lullabies
Talk of growing old with me and drown in heavens golden sea
Push me past your lifeless eyes while singing twisted lullabies
I can't sleep when I'm falling into the sun
It'll be right in the morning now the day has begun
I can't sleep when I'm falling into the sun
It'll be right in the morning now the day has begun
I've been dreaming talking to the god inside my mind
And every night he'll push his way past twisted lullabies
Talk of growing old with me and drown in heavens golden sea
Push me past your lifeless eyes while singing twisted lullabies
I can't sleep when I'm falling into the sun
It'll be right in the morning now the day has begun
I can't sleep when I'm falling into the sun
It'll be right in the morning now the day has begun
I can't sleep when I'm falling into the sun
It'll be right in the morning now the day has begun
I can't sleep when I'm falling into the sun
It'll be right in the morning now the day has begun
The lyrics to Shade's song "Fast as I Can" convey a deep longing for connection and escape from the struggles of reality. The first verse describes the act of dreaming and conversing with a divine presence within the singer's mind. This inner god figure serves as a source of comfort and solace, pushing aside the haunting melodies of twisted lullabies. The mention of growing old together and drowning in a metaphorical golden sea symbolizes a desire for eternal happiness and fulfillment in a heavenly realm.
The repetition of the phrase "I can't sleep when I'm falling into the sun" in the chorus suggests a fear or reluctance to face the harsh light of reality. The sun represents a new day, bringing with it the responsibilities and challenges that the singer might be struggling to confront. The lyrics imply that the singer finds it difficult to find rest when confronted with the impending demands of the outside world.
The repeated reference to "twisted lullabies" further reinforces the theme of escaping from the harshness of reality. These lullabies, though soothing to some extent, carry a dark and twisted quality. They symbolize the inner demons or thoughts that can disturb one's peace of mind and prevent them from finding tranquility.
Ultimately, the lyrics convey a strong sense of yearning for a peaceful existence, free from the burdens of the world. The repetition of the chorus serves to emphasize the struggle the singer faces in finding peace and sleep. However, the mention of the morning and the day beginning suggests a glimmer of hope that tomorrow brings a fresh start, where the singer may find the peace and rest they seek.
