Shade Lyrics

Lo sguardo freddo di chi ha detto
"Non c'è niente da fare"
Quanto per lui fosse normale
Quasi naturale
Quanto ci rimani male
Quando dice quanto ti rimane
Via della sofferenza
Un calendario pieno di date di scadenza
Ho un fiore sulla giacca
Che mi spruzza l'acqua in faccia
Così nasconderà le mie lacrime di tristezza
Come dire non correre
Forse cadi
Paziente trenta
A letto sei
Reparto tre
Negli ospedali c'è chi vede solo cifre
Disposte lungo dieci piani
Numeri che calano
Numeri decimati
E avrò sempre addosso quel grande naso rosso
E avrò sempre addosso quel grande naso rosso
In the song "Patch Adams" by Shade, the lyrics portray a powerful narrative of resilience, empathy, and dedication in the face of challenges and adversity. The opening verse reflects on a moment of disappointment and defeat when the singer receives a negative outcome on an exam. The cold look of those who deliver the news reinforces the harsh reality of the situation, suggesting a sense of hopelessness and acceptance of failure as something commonplace. The emotional impact of such moments is emphasized by the line "Quanto ci rimani male Quando dice quanto ti rimane" which conveys the depth of disappointment and discouragement that can accompany setbacks.
The theme of transformation and coping with pain is further explored in the subsequent verse, where the lyrics delve into the concept of moving residences as a metaphor for enduring suffering and facing life's challenges. The imagery of a calendar filled with impending deadlines symbolizes the pressures and constraints of time, while the mention of a flower on the jacket spritzing water on the face suggests a desire to conceal feelings of sadness and vulnerability. The caution to "non correre Forse cadi" serves as a reminder to tread carefully and avoid rushing headlong into obstacles, underscoring the importance of patience and self-care in difficult times.
The song then shifts focus to a hospital setting, painting a vivid picture of a patient labeled as number thirty in ward three, amidst a sea of numerical designations and clinical detachment. The juxtaposition of the singer's oversized shoes and the dismissive attitude of hospital staff towards personal connections highlights the dehumanizing nature of healthcare institutions. However, amidst this clinical environment, a sense of connection and solidarity is fostered through the metaphorical red thread, symbolizing a shared journey and a mutual understanding of the struggles faced together.
The final verse encapsulates a message of enduring love, loyalty, and shared experiences in the face of adversity. The commitment to making each other laugh, going above and beyond in caring for one another, and cherishing the time spent together in the hospital room speaks to the depth of the bond between the singer and their loved one. Despite the pain and uncertainty that may linger beneath the surface, the determination to be there for each other and continue facing life's challenges together underscores the resilience and strength of their relationship. The imagery of wearing a clown's nose as a symbol of support and comfort, and the promise of embarking on new adventures together, captures the essence of hope, companionship, and a shared journey towards a brighter future.
