1, Shaggy (born October 22, 1969, in Kingston, Jamaica as Orville Richard Burrell), is a Jamaican reggae artist who takes his nickname from his shaggy hair. He is especially notable for his distinctive sub-baritone voice.
His family immigrated to the United States and they settled in the neighborhood of Flatbush, Brooklyn, located in New York City, New York, USA.
In 1988, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served during Operation Desert Storm during the Persian Gulf War.
On his return from Iraq, he decided to pursue his music career and his first hit in 1993: "Oh Carolina", was a dancehall re-make of a ska hit by the Folkes Brothers. The same year, Shaggy appeared on Kenny Dope's hip hop album "The Unreleased Project". He worked together with producers such as Sting Intl., Don One (who cut his first track), Lloyd 'Spiderman' Campbell and Robert Livingston. He had further big hits, including "Boombastic" in 1995.
He then had a major comeback in 2001, featuring worldwide number-one hit singles "It Wasn't Me" and "Angel," the latter of which was built around Merrilee Rush's 1968 hit "Angel of the Morning" (which was remade in 1981 by Juice Newton). The album Hot Shot, from which those cuts came, would hit number one on the Billboard 200.
However, his 2002 release Lucky Day, and the 2005 album Clothes Drop failed to match Hot Shot's success.
Shaggy performed the theme for Showtime (film), a 2002 movie.
2, Shaggy, a swedish rock/blues rock band from the 1970's. Released one album, "Lessons for beginners"
Luck Be a Lady

But there is room for doubt
At times she has a very un-lady-like way of running out
She's on this date with me
The picking's have been lush
And yet before this evening is over
She might give me the brush
She might forget her manners
And so the best that I can do is pray
Hot gyal
Hot gyal inna hot tings
Top gyal, lucky girl, ay
Luck be a lady tonight
Luck be a lady tonight
Luck if you've ever been a lady to begin with
Luck be a lady tonight
Luck let a gentleman see
How nice a dame you can be
I know the way you've treated other guys you've been with
Luck be a lady with me
A lady doesn't leave her escort
It isn't fair, it isn't nice
A lady doesn't wander all over the room
And blow on some other guy's dice
Let's keep this party polite
Never get out of my sight
Stick with me baby, I'm the fella that you came in with
Luck be a lady tonight
Dem bashment gyal yah
Hot gyal
Tun up ting we a talk 'bout
Ay
A lady doesn't leave her escort
It isn't fair, it is not nice
A lady doesn't wander all over the room
And blow on some other guy's dice
Let's keep this party polite
Never get out of my sight
Stick with me baby, I'm the fella that you came in with
Luck be a lady
Luck be a lady
Luck be a lady
Luck be a lady tonight
In "Lady," Shaggy takes inspiration from the iconic Frank Sinatra song "Luck Be a Lady." The lyrics depict Shaggy's perspective on a date with a woman who is often associated with luck but also has a tendency to disappoint. Shaggy acknowledges the doubt surrounding her reliability, as she sometimes behaves in an unladylike manner when it comes to their relationship.
The song highlights Shaggy's uncertainty about the outcome of the evening and his hopes that she will stick around and treat him well. He prays for her to remember her manners and not abruptly leave or reject him, fearing that she may give him the cold shoulder in the end. Shaggy's desire for her to be a lady in his presence suggests his longing for stability and a genuine connection.
The lyrics also incorporate some Jamaican patois, adding flavor to the song and reflecting Shaggy's Jamaican background. This infusion of Caribbean culture further enhances the track's appeal and adds a unique touch to Shaggy's interpretation of the classic tune.
Overall, "Lady" explores the complexities of relationships and the unpredictable nature of luck, highlighting Shaggy's desire for stability and a genuine connection with his date.
