(Pa' tipos como tú-uh-uh-uh-uh)
Oh, oh
(Pa' tipos como tú-uh-uh-uh-uh)
Perdón, ya cogí otro avión
Aquí no vuelvo, no quiero otra decepción
Tanto que te la das de campeón
Sorry, baby, hace rato
Oh-oh, oh-oh
Esto es pa' que te mortifique'
Mastique' y trague', trague' y mastique'
Oh-oh, oh-oh
Del amor al odio hay un paso
Por acá no vuelva', hazme caso
Cero rencor, bebé, yo te deseo que
Te vaya bien con mi supuesto reemplazo
No sé ni qué es lo que te pasó
'Tás tan raro que ni te distingo
Yo valgo por dos de 22
Cambiaste un Ferrari por un Twingo
Cambiaste un Rolex por un Casio
Vas acelerao', dale despacio
Ah, mucho gimnasio
Oh-oh, oh-oh
Ya está, chao
The first part of the lyrics of Shakira's song Shakira DJ Memegamix is a repetition of the same line over and over again, which in English translates to "Barefoot... Where are you... I am here..." This repetition could potentially symbolize a yearning for something or someone lost or missing, despite being within reach. The following lines describe the addressee as being part of an ancient race of barefoot and dreamy people who were as fleeting as dust. Despite belonging to this extinct kind, they had a rebellious nature, symbolized by their biting the forbidden fruit, condemning their own selves in the process. However, they survived for centuries, braving the world's monsters and surviving without a roof or a shield.
The next part of the song, "Donde Estas Corazon?" (Where Are You, My Heart?), is a lamentation over what was lost. The singer is searching for their heart or someone they love, but they cannot find them. The lyrics suggest that the singer might be blaming their own actions or their silence for pushing this person away. The singer begs for this person to come back, as they feel alone and incomplete without them.
In "Estoy Aqui" (I Am Here), the singer implies that they have since moved on from their heartbreak, but they are still haunted by the past. They acknowledge that the person they lost will never return, but they want to move forward by transforming their environment. The singer has plans to make the fields into cities, and mix the sky with the sea. They want to erase the past, but they recognize that it will take a long time to heal.
Line by Line Meaning
Pies Descalzos...Donde Estas... Estoy Aqui...(repeat 8x)
Repetition of the lines 'Barefooted...Where are you...I am here' which represents the singer's desire to connect with her love interest who seems to be distant from her.
Perteneciste a una raza antigua
You belonged to an ancient race
De pies descalzos
Of barefoot
Why de sueños blancos.
And of white dreams.
Fuiste polvo, polvo eres.
You were dust, dust you are.
Piensa que el hierro
Think that iron,
Siempre al calor es blando.
Always becomes soft in heat.
Tu mordiste la manzana
You bit the apple
Why renunciaste al paraíso
And renounced paradise
Why condenaste a una serpiente
And condemned a serpent
Siendo tu el que así lo quiso.
Being you the one who wanted it that way.
Por milenios why milenios
For millennia and millennia
Permaneciste desnudo
You remained naked
Why te enfrentaste a dinosaurios
And you faced off with dinosaurs
Bajo un techo why sin escudo.
Under a roof and without a shield.
Why ahora estás aquí,
And now you're here
Queriendo ser feliz.
Wanting to be happy.
Cuando no te importó
When you didn't care
Un pepino tu destino!
A cucumber was your destiny!
Donde Estas Corazon?
Where are you, my heart?
No, no, no, no, no, no...
No, no, no, no, no, no...
Ayer te busque.
Yesterday I searched for you.
Why no te encontre.
And I did not find you.
Between the ground and the sky, my sky
Why puedo pensar que huyes de mi
And I can think that you're running away from me
Porque mi silencio una corazonada
Because my silence gives me a hunch
Me dice que si
That you are
Ven regresa por mi
Come back for me
Because my life turns to chaos
Si no estas aqui
If you're not here
Why quiero pensar
And I want to think
Que no tardaras
That you won't be long
Porque en el planeta no existe
Because on this planet there does not exist
Mas nadie a quien pueda yo amar
Anyone else whom I can love more.
Estoy Aqui...
I am here
Lo que ser no ver...
What being is not seen...
Buscando te...
Searching for you...
ya se que no vendras
I already know you won't come
Todo lo que fue
All that we had
El tiempo lo dejo atras
Was left behind by time
Se que no regresaras
I know you won't come back
Lo que nos paso
What happened to us
No repetira jamas
Will never repeat again.
Mil años no me alcanzaran
A thousand years won't be enough for me
Para borrarte why olvidar
To erase you and forget
Quierendo convertir
Wanting to turn
Los campos why en ciudad
The fields into a city
Mezclando cielo con el mar
Mixing the sky with the sea
Se que te deje escapar
I know I let you get away
Se que te perdi
I know I lost you
Nada podra ser igual
Nothing will ever be the same
Mil años pueden alcanzar,
A thousand years can go by
Para que pueda perdonar
Before I can forgive.
Ahogandome
Drowning
Entre fotos why cuandernos
Amongst photos and notebooks
Entre cosas why recuerdos
Amongst things and memories
Que no puedo comprender
That I can't understand
Estoy enloqueciendome
I am going crazy
Cambiandome un pie por la
Trading a foot for my
Cara mia
Dear face,
Esta noche por el dia
This night for the day.
Estoy enloqueciendote...
I'm driving you crazy...
