Shane Barnard
Christianity began to play an active role in the life of Barnard when he was in ninth grade, when he began to attend a Bible church youth group. He began leading worship soon thereafter. During his junior year as a student at Texas A&M University, Barnard began a recording career.
Prior to joining Everett, Barnard teamed up with friend Caleb Carruth to release an album. Entitled "Salvation Still Remains", it was released in limited numbers. Barnard and Carruth were rumored to have recorded the album in only two days due to the fact they had to pay for studio time themselves and wanting to make the most of it. Family and friends brought them sandwiches and drinks through out the process. Barnard and Carruth later agreed to end their partnership amicably, stating "they were just moving in different directions".
Shane married CCM singer Bethany Dillon on March 29, 2008.
Shane Everett
Everett was born in Dallas, Texas and later moved to Garland, a nearby suburb. Everett also attended Texas A&M University. After playing in a bar band, 4D2, one night Everett experienced an encounter with God which led him to Central Baptist Church, where he became a Christian. Shortly thereafter, he met Barnard, and became part of a weekly student-led praise and worship service at Texas A&M.
The band originally began with Barnard performing solo acts, but Everett increasingly played a major role in his performances. With the release of their 2003 album, entitled Carry Away, the band became officially known as Shane & Shane.
Band Members
Taylor Johnson
Johnson started as a guitarist for Todd Agnew. After Agnew moved to Memphis, Tennessee, Taylor stayed behind and played the guitar for the Robbie Seay Band. When Robbie Seay Band went on tour with Shane & Shane during David Crowder Band's "A Collision Tour", he played guitar for both, staying on with the new group. Taylor later went full time with the David Crowder Band, and is now back with Shane & Shane.

Yearn
Shane & Shane Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
This place in time
That I might seek and find my God
My God
Lord I want to yearn for You
I want to burn with passion
Over You and only You
Your joy is mine
Yet why am I fine
With all my singing and bringing grain
In light of Him
Oh You give life and breath
Through Him You give all things
In Him we live and move
That's why I sing
In Shane and Shane's song "Yearn," the lyrics depict a deep longing and desire to seek and find God in the midst of the distractions of life. The opening line "Holy design, this place in time" suggests that everything in the world is designed by God and that in this particular moment, there is a chance to connect with and seek God. The repetition of "My God" throughout the beginning of the song emphasizes the personal nature of the desire to connect with God.
The chorus of the song expresses a plea for God to give the strength and ability to yearn, to burn with passion for Him above all else. It reflects the idea that the human heart can only find true fulfillment and satisfaction in desiring God, and that this desire must be intentional and driven by a passionate pursuit. The lyrics also acknowledge the gift of joy that God gives, yet recognize the disparity between the reality of God's goodness and how often one is satisfied with lesser things.
The second verse of the song acknowledges that it is God who gives life and breath and that everything exists in Him. The conclusion emphasizes this point, repeating that the reason for the desire to seek and yearn for God is due to His goodness and the fact that He is the source of all life.

@Eli3000watts
I think the reason for these young men are being overlooked is because they are coming from the word, and living it instead just doing it for a show or for the money.
