After graduating from Christ for the Nations and Dallas Baptist University, she has continued in this calling leading worship and ministering in music both internationally and at her local church, also joining forces with worship leaders & ministries such as Paul Baloche, Ross Parsley, Jared Anderson, The Desperation Band, Scott Krippayne, Revive Our Hearts & Day of Discovery. As a songwriter, Shannon’s songs have been utilized by Integrity Music, Maranatha! Music, LifeWay Worship, PBS, Discovery House Music, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Worship Leader Magazine’s Song DISCovery and local churches around the world. She has recorded four worship artist projects of her own, which can be found at www.shannonwexelberg.com.
Most importantly and best of all, Shannon loves Jesus. She is grateful that through each and every difficult season of her life, God has proven Himself faithful time and again and has taught her more about Himself. It is during these times that she has most learned what worship really looks like. More than a song, it is a posture of heart and a lifestyle. Shannon loves to travel and minister, but more than anything she loves to be on the home front with her husband and six year old son, enjoying family, friends, church & life in the Rocky Mountains.

And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel
Our spirits by Thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight!
Oho Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel
O come desire of nations, bind
All people in one heart and one mind;
Bid envy, strife, and quarrels cease;
Fill the whole world with heaven's peace
Oho Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel
Oho Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel
O Israel
The song "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" is a hymn that yearns for the coming of Christ to save Israel from captivity and sin. The lyrics are a plea for the arrival of Emmanuel, the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament, to free Israel from their struggles and bring peace to the world. The first verse describes Israel as captive and in exile, longing for the Son of God to appear and free them. The second verse implores the Day-Spring, a name for Jesus Christ, to bring light and joy to the world by dispelling darkness and death. The final verse pleads with Jesus to bind all people together in peace, ending all strife and quarrels.
The refrain "Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel" is a hopeful reminder that although Israel is mourning, their Savior will come to bring joy and salvation. The hymn is typically sung during the Advent season, which is a time of waiting and preparation for the coming of Christ. The lyrics are a reminder to Christians to stay steadfast in their faith and to eagerly anticipate the arrival of their Savior.
