She Wants Revenge's music is hard to emcompass into a single genre or sound. It draws inspiration from several alternative rock and new wave artists. The band blends their influences with ever-present electronics (eg. synths and drum machines) in a style most accurately labeled under the umbrella term, "darkwave", a style of music reminiscent of the New Wave and Gothic Rock sounds of the 1980s.
She Wants Revenge have stated that they make "dance music" on numerous occasions setting them aside from the contemporary rock bands often falsely linked with the band in the music press.
History
Their self-titled debut, was released in 2006. They contributed a cover of 'Kindnap the Sandy Claws' to the soundtrack of the "The Nightmare Before Christmas" re-release. Their next LP release, 'This Is Forever' was released in 2007. They also were featured on a track 'Time', with Timbaland.
On Feb. 27th, 2008, She Wants Revenge parted ways with Geffen/Interscope to run their own record label called Perfect Kiss Records, from which they released an EP titled 'Save Your Soul'. A second EP followed in 2009, titled "Up and Down", which was released on the 22nd of September.
On August 5th, 2020, Adam and Justin posted onto the official Instagram account of the band to announce their disbandment. They have confirmed that She Wants Revenge will not be returning, quote, "So, it's with a bit of sadness, yet crystal clear certainty that we say to you our friends, She Wants Revenge has run its course."
Alongside the post, Justin wrote a letter to fans thanking them. This can also be found on their Instagram page.
After She Wants Revenge, Adam has continued his own work inside "Love, Ecstasy and Terror", also known as lovexterror.

She Wants Revenge Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Now it's hard to find the words to explain
You're pushing forward while I'm pushing away
I think it's time we set some rules to this game
And she carries on
She carries on
She carries on
(I am)looking for differences while you seek affection
Now I think it's time that we should be friends
(Or just)make me your enemy if that makes it easier
For you to finally see it's the end
Then she carries on
She carries on
She carries on
In her own way
Sugar don't you forget me
I'm only asking
Would you take me with you
I'm all alone
Sugar don't you forget me
I'm only asking
Will you take me with you
I'm all alone
Holding me hostage with emotions and tears
Wearing me down until I've lost my resolve
(But then)in the morning when I break from these chains
You act surprised as if our problem's resolved
Then she carries on
She carries on
She carries on
In her own way
(I)pack my bags and set them right by the door
And cross my fingers as I head back inside
(Because)I never meant to break your spirit
I'm sure they'll be regrets but first I need to survive
And we'll carry on
We'll carry on
We'll carry on
In our own ways
Sugar don't you forget me
I'm only asking
Would you take me with you
I'm all alone
Sugar don't you forget me
I'm only asking
Please just take me with you
I'm all alone
I'm only asking
Because I'm broken and tattered in two
I'm only asking
Because I'm simply enamored with you
Sugar don't you forget me
I'm only asking
Would you take me with you
I'm all alone
Sugar don't you forget me
I'm only asking
Please just take me with you
I'm all alone
I'm all alone
I'm all alone
The lyrics to She Wants Revenge's song "Sugar" seem to be about a dysfunctional relationship that is coming to an end. The singer tries to communicate their feelings to their partner, but they don't seem to want to listen or understand. The singer feels like they are being held hostage by their emotions and tears, and they are losing their resolve.
The song seems to be from the perspective of someone who is trying to end a toxic relationship but is finding it difficult to do so. They want to move on, but they are also asking their partner not to forget them and to take them with them. The lyrics indicate a feeling of being broken and tattered, but the singer is still enamored with their partner. The repetition of "sugar, don't you forget me" at the end of each verse suggests a plea to be remembered and not left behind.
Overall, the lyrics suggest a relationship that has run its course and the struggle that comes with accepting the end and moving on.
