I never even played Black, but this has to be the best route theme of any Pokemon game, period.

No other theme compliments the situation of being on the very last stretch to the final battles of the game, with all your badges. And for most players, this is the only time they will ever hear it.

This is the kind of music that plays when you're climbing the final hurdles to the top. And that's exactly what you're doing here.

A couple minutes turns into two centuries. Every step is another life that came and gone.

This is more than just music, it's a theme that makes you reflect on everything you experienced in the game. Standing atop a huge mountain that looks over all of Unova... You flew above most people in the region... Much like you made it to heaven when most don't make it.

This theme is the developer's reward for getting this far in the game. Because in reality, many players don't. Just like climbing Mount Everest and seeing the world before your eyes.

This is just that... In the form of music.

Thank you, 7 Gamer Minutes. You're the reason I can hear this beautiful theme without even having played Black or White.

Its still in BW2. During Winter months there is a house you can access in Icirrus City that has the Sound Designer. He'll let you listen to this theme. Oh and there's two other characters that make references to Team Magma and Team Aqua.

Only during Winter months or all the time?

@@ian6280 the funny thing is that this same guy commented 9 years ago on the same video, meaning he has been coming back to this song.

While short-lived, Shōta Kageyama really brought his unique compositional style into the franchise, and while his stuff for gen V-VI didn't sound like "Pokemon", per se, it also meant that he carved a more mature atmosphere into these games thanks to leading the sound team into venturing towards more experimental sonic grounds from B&W and onward due to his involvement.

While he was only at Gamefreak for 6 years or so, Shota Kageyama still continues to compose and do music for Pokemon games even today. After leaving Gamefreak he went independent, but still maintained good relations, and as such he was brought back to work on many projects. He did music in ORAS, Let’s Go Games, and even BDSP. Absolutely agree that his influence is definitely felt even today with how music modern Pokemon music has ventured out to new and interesting heights.

The route leading to the badge check area and to victory road. Kinda gives you a feeling that your journey is almost at an end... pretty much one of the best route music I've ever heard.

@TheWoahAlex

Seriously... Sounds so much like Professor Layton music it's unreal...
