She started her career as a singer in the local Adelaide acid jazz band Crisp in the mid-1990s. In 1997, when Crisp disbanded, she released her debut studio album titled OnlySee in Australia. She then moved to London, England, and provided lead vocals for the British duo Zero 7.

In 2000, Sia signed to Sony Music's sub-label Dance Pool and released her second studio album, Healing Is Difficult, the following year. Displeased with the promotion of the record, she signed to Go! Beat and released her third studio album, Colour the Small One, in 2004. The project struggled to connect with a mainstream audience, and so Sia relocated to New York City in 2005 and began touring across the United States. She released her fourth and fifth studio releases, Some People Have Real Problems and We Are Born, in 2008 and 2010, respectively. She then took a hiatus from performing, during which she focused on songwriting for other artists. Her catalogue includes the successful collaborations "Titanium" (with David Guetta), "Diamonds" (with Rihanna) and "Wild Ones" (with Flo Rida).

In 2014, Sia released her sixth studio album 1000 Forms of Fear, which debuted at No 1 in the U.S. Billboard 200 and generated the top-ten breakthrough single "Chandelier" and a trilogy of music videos starring child dancer Maddie Ziegler. In 2016, she released her seventh studio album This Is Acting, which spawned her first Hot 100 number one single, "Cheap Thrills". The same year, Sia gave her Nostalgic for the Present Tour, which incorporated performance art elements. Sia has received an array of accolades, including ARIA Awards and an MTV Video Music Award.

It's like she knew MY LIFE when she wrote this and BREATHE ME. Sia has knocked Tori Amos out of the running for me to see LIVE IN CONCERT before I die. Her music describes how I feel on daily basis. Every word, every emotion, every pitch she makes is EXACTLY how I feel. I love her and will forever be grateful to her for making such amazing music. Had the pleasure of seeing Sia in a small venue a few years back. It was one of the best shows I've seen. She interacts with the crowd in between songs, but once her band starts playing she almost seems like she goes into a trance. It felt like I was witnessing something personal. Like she was singing to someone in the back of the room & we weren't even there. For the next few weeks we talked about how much that concert entertained us. I hope she does tour again & I hope that you all have the opportunity to see her live. I know I will be first in line for tickets!!

My favorite band of all time is Muse, (I have all 6 of their studio albums and know the lyrics to most of their hundred plus songs). I am a die-hard Muse fan forever. And you wanna know how I was introduced to them? Twilight was going to feature Time is Running Out, one of Muse's earlier songs, and my friend told me to listen to it because she's a fan of Twilight.
Don't judge a fan by how they were introduced. Love at first sight (or listen) is rare and usually mythical.

As a guy thats struggled with crippling depression, this song resonates for me. I met my fiance close to 4 years ago and she's been that person to hold my sadness. I remember when I was struggling to get chemically clean and my daddy was dying at the hospital. He was on life support had a stroke and I was standing over his bed praying for him. Sia shouldn't be afraid of what people think of her on the outside because she is a very good person inside and a great singer. Ever since I heard my first Sia song I have been in love with her songs. She is a wonderful person on the inside and outside and she is a wonderful singer. #SiaForever

It's been two years since my wife of 20 years asked for a divorce. I found residence back at my Mothers house. Living in her basement away from my wife and two children, the home I thought I'd spend the rest of my days at. Just how broken my heart feels, the loneliness. This song describes my situation. God, I'm so tired of people. If it's not the size of someone's body, it's their face. If it's not there face, it's some weird quirk of there's that sets them apart. I don't even know why what she looks like is a subject for discussion. I am sitting here, completely captivated by her voice and her song, so why does anything else matter? That's the point of music, it is heard and felt, not seen.
And for the record, I think she's beautiful.

I came back because I was listening to something else by Sia and clearly remember listening to this song many dark years back. If you are struggling; cry, pray, talk, listen to music, sing at the top of your lungs.....just don't give up. Things usually work out and I still get low some times but not as much or as often and I can finally sleep. I wish you well.
