In my head, oh I'm in my head, trying to pretend
That clarity and serenity aren't too far ahead
With every loss, the cycle turns and life springs forth again
Brown man, what do you see?
I see the whole world and its staring at me
Brown man, what do you see?
Burnt a lot of bridges
Dove head first into rivers of mirrors, millions of them
Self reflected Is it harder to trust someone? Or to be trusted?
Invested emotions in these currents
Please bring me back to the ocean
Please bring me back to the ocean
Red dot on the head, hair tied back tight
In a way that says I don't care how you feel
I'm not here for reconciliation, I'm here for what's mine
I'm not here for reconciliation, I'm here for what's mine
Red dot on the head, hair tied back tight
In a way that says I don't care how you feel
I'm not here for reconciliation, I'm here for what's mine
I'm not here for reconciliation, I'm here for what's mine
Brown man, what do you see?
I see the whole world and its staring at me
Brown man, what do you see?
I see the whole world and its staring at me
In "Eyes Open" by Sid Sriram, the singer seems to be struggling with inner turmoil and searching for clarity and serenity. The repetition of "everything is going to waste again" and "In my head, oh I'm in my head, trying to pretend" illustrates the internal struggle that the singer is going through. He wants to believe that there is hope for a better future, but it seems to be just out of reach. The line "With every loss, the cycle turns and life springs forth again" suggests that the singer has experienced some sort of loss, but he is trying to find hope in the fact that life goes on.
The chorus of the song, "Brown man, what do you see? I see the whole world and it's staring at me," is a powerful statement about identity and representation. The singer is acknowledging that he is a "brown man" and that his experiences are unique because of his identity. He is aware of the way that he is seen and the way that the world sees him, but he is also asserting his own agency and seeing the world for himself.
The verses of the song touch on themes of self-reflection, trust, and restitution. The lines "Burnt a lot of bridges, dove head first into rivers of mirrors, millions of them" seem to be a reference to the singer's past mistakes and the difficulty he has had in reconciling with those he has wronged. He recognizes the importance of trust and being trusted as he asks the question "Is it harder to trust someone? Or to be trusted?" The repetition of "Please bring me back to the ocean" at the end of the verse suggests that the singer wants to return to a simpler time in his life, perhaps before he made mistakes or before he had to navigate the complexities of human relationships.
Overall, "Eyes Open" is a powerful song about identity, struggle, and hope. The singer is searching for clarity and serenity in a world that can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Through introspection and self-reflection, he is trying to find a way forward and make sense of his experiences.

Emotions and thoughts they're flowin
My eyes they're open.. But they ain't glowin
Mayhem inside but I'm smiling outside
Whose side are you on.. the people ask
Still searchin for the answer.. It's a Herculean task
My culture my roots
Eagles and vultures.. More than 100 lanes and routes
Amidst all this chaos I find peace
At the shore where all life seems to begin and cease//
I don't know if this makes sense.. But this is for you brother Sid.. All Love and no hate man

This makes sense on so many levels. I just didn't get what eagles and vultures mean after my cultures my roots, and the shore where life begins and cease. Which shore are you talking about? Can you please tell me what you mean with those?
