The band was not formed until after the recording of the album Black Leather Mojo, and despite the name only ever had 4 members.
Their debut album was produced by Tim Smith of the Cardiacs, who Ginger counted as one of his biggest influences. It was claimed by Ginger himself in an interview with Kerrang! magazine, that the audition for Wildhearts bassist Danny McCormack consisted of taking LSD and attending a Cardiacs concert.
The link with the Cardiacs continued with the group's guitarist Random Jon Poole playing bass on Black Leather Mojo.
Sonic Shake
Silver Ginger 5 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
louder, louder.
Super speed now, like a sonic rainboom,
faster, faster.
'Cause we're flying high,
higher, higher.
You know you know it's yours to take.
Things will never be the same.
Train hard, till there's nothing left,
Till they know your name.
There's nothing to fear, just open your eyes, feel the adrenaline pumping.
Everyone is watching you (watching you).
Can you feel the wind rush under your wings? (Your wings).
This is your time now (your time).
Time to show the world (oh).
The lyrics to "Sonic Shake" by Silver Ginger 5 are an anthem of overcoming fear and reaching the height of one's potential. The song begins by encouraging the listener to open their ears to the music and let it drown out any fear they may have. The chorus is a call to action to go faster, fly higher, and embrace the rush of adrenaline. It is an invitation to take the chance and pursue one's dreams with everything they've got. The lyrics commend hard work and perseverance as the key to success and a way to make a mark on the world. The bridge of the song reminds the listener that they are not alone and that everyone is watching. The song is an inspirational message of hope and an energizing push towards achieving one's goals.

if there was a bigger budget enabling them to release singles from the album , 'Monkey Zoo' might have had a chance as a big single. Gorgeous track.

So cool that's you stage diving. Yeah, I've posted 2-3 live shows where I'm in the audience too and even seen sometimes. This is a great clip. Never heard the band before. Fan of Ginger. I kept waiting for a guitar solo. Haha.

So, Ginger the leather biker, Conny the glamster, Jonny in a suit, and Tom's casual street wear. Hm. Well, they're having fun at it, that's what counts! :-)
@ThePsychoFish
this might as well been under the name of the Wildhearts
