His style can only be described as Cutting edge, dark, driving, pulsating. In the past five years Simon has really clocked up the air miles, rocking some of the biggest parties on offer. Recently he has plied his trade in Rotterdam for crowds of up to 500,000; he has performed at the sun-drenched dance Mecca that is Ibiza year in, year out; and he has completed a huge tour of the far-east and an indoor festival in Russia where he gave 20,000 Muscovites a musical masterclass.
Last summer Patterson graced the world stage at Dance Valley, Sunrise, HI-FI, Planet Love, Mexico Stadium, plus various dates in Ibiza, Dubai, Malta, Netherlands, Canada, Germany and Cyprus and countless UK performances.
His production debut track in 2006, entitled ‘F-16’, was massive; ‘Strip Search’/’Panic Attack’ is the scheduled follow up.
Simon’s alter ego is one half of the massive Dogzilla with Richard Kayvan, most famous for recording the ever-popular ‘Without You’, which spawned the new rock trance movement. It went down as one of the precious few trance records in recent years that claimed anthem status. Countless remixes followed.
Now I Can Breathe Again

Stranded and locked away, you pull me further down
You can only fight the undertow for so long
In the end, you either let him go or you drown
And now I can breathe again,
cast you off and come back
gone forever in a sea of tears
And now I can breathe again
From the depths I rise above the space
and I take a breath
And it goes ooh ooh ooh ooh ooooooh.
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooooooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooooooh
The lyrics to Simon Patterson feat. Lucy Pullin's song "Now I Can Breathe Again" tell the story of someone who feels trapped and pulled down in a situation. The metaphor of being stranded on a remote island with no space to land represents the feeling of being stuck and not knowing where to go or what to do. The person is fighting against the undertow, which represents the negative forces pulling them down. However, they eventually realize that they can only fight for so long and must let go in order to survive.
The chorus "And now I can breathe again" represents the relief and freedom that comes with letting go of the negative forces holding them down. They cast off the person or thing that was weighing them down and come back stronger. The sea of tears represents the emotional pain and struggle that came with the situation they were in. Finally, They rise above the space and take a breath, representing a sense of empowerment and renewal.

2:08 that is like one of the darkest, most peaceful vocal build-ins I've ever heard
I think the way it just picks itself up, flops over, and slams in at 5:32 is perfect, the breakdown from 2:39 on is almost like a dream, almost feeling like it's a little too peaceful, builds up, then snaps you back into the darkness
from a consistency perspective it makes no sense, but I think it jives well with what kind of story the entire song is trying to tell
it's refreshing to have someone just flat out challenge the "oh it's a happy build up it has to lead into an even happier break". also kind of flows nicely into a tech trance set, you can kind of lull people into a false sense of security/concern (shit is he just gonna go progressive trance on us...) annnnd no back to tech
