He was a prolific writer whose other works include science fiction stories, historical novels, plays and romances, poetry, and non-fiction.
All of the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are now freely available at Project Gutenberg, both in text and spoken word.
The stories of Sherlock Holmes are also available on tape/CD from CSA Word Publications as audiobooks and is read by Edward Hardwicke who is best known for playing Dr Watson in the highly acclaimed Granada tv series Sherlock Holmes which starred Jeremy Brett.

As a lifetime lover of audiobooks, as well as the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, you are the best in the business! Like many, I mourned the passing of the late great Jeremy Brett, who was the quintessential Holmes in the Grenada TV series of the 1980s and 90s, and I never thought I would really enjoy any other rendition. J.B was definitely the most authentic Holmes I've seen on screen. Can't remember the name of the actor playing Watson but same for him. So many bumbling Watsons through the years. These guys rule supreme and of course Gregg Waglland when it comes to audio he's not too shabby either. ๐

By this time I am well familiar with Holmes like he is my own brother of mischief. Its makes me laugh so hard whenever he made a comeback to those who chapped him.๐๐๐
I think listening from him taught me how to counter insolently yet with gracious deliveration so that the sting will be felt deeper, the reciever will be dumbfounded๐๐๐๐
Well of course, its all because Mr. Greg narrates them better than how myself would read it. Each charaters comes to life, that the whole scene could be pictured out even if one hasn't got a good imagination.
