This song and video is about the period of denial after a break up. She tells herself and others that she is okay with it but the chains show that she is still hung up on her ex-lover. At the end, the chains break to show the end of this period. She can finally move on with her life which is why she walks out of the room. The lady in the white coat had been in such a situation but not as the victim and now that she has seen what breaking someone's heart does to them she feels remorse and pity. She is happy for Skin at the end because somehow she felt guilty for her pain.
