Marley was born in Kingston, Jamaica to Cedella Marley and David Minto, and raised in Miami, Florida.[1][2] Growing up, he taught himself to play the piano, drums, guitar, and bass.[3]
In 2015, he released his first single, "Cry to Me", and a second single called "Life" under the Tuff Gong label. He later signed with Blue Mountain Music, and joined his uncles Damian and Stephen on their Catch a Fire tour.
In early 2016, he was featured in a Gap 1969 Denim campaign.
In early 2017, Skip Marley signed to Island Records. Island's President and CEO, David Massey, called Marley's talent "extraordinary", adding that "his music reflects what the world needs right now." Marley released his debut single under Island Records, "Lions", in February 2017.

When all you do is hold on to your insecurities
A hurting heart is the most, painful
So let it all out and, oh cry () Cry... cry to me, if u wanna
Its fine... fine by me
Cause i'll hold you, you see inside...
Heard you leave
So cry... cry to me
(2)
When will you emerge from, your hideaway
From your true feelings that you want, escape
Maybe it's my mind driftin too far away, into space
Fly away to a, better place
There's no other spot
I'd rather lay
So don't be scared no,
I won't hurt you
() Cry... cry to me, if u wanna
Its fine... fine by me
Cause i'll hold you, you see inside...
Heard you leave
So cry... cry to me
(3)
We're better together, in any weather
If it's cold im your sweater
If it rains I'm your umrella
No one is perfect, but to me you're perfection
What are flaws beside, their creation
Ain't gonna walk trough theheartaches Walk through the pain
Don't feel alone in the shadow
You're not the one to blame society deceives your mind
Tells you what you should be
How to look and to act, and what to believe is real
Let it all go, it will make you feel better
So drop it all and cry to me if you want to
() Cry... cry to me, if u wanna
Its fine... fine by me
Cause i'll hold you, you see inside...
Heard you leave
So cry... cry to me cry... cry to me if u wanna
It's fine... it's fine by me cause
I'll hold you
It's fine...
The lyrics of Skip Marley's song "Cry To Me" are an exploration of the emotional turmoil of anxiety, insecurity and pain, and a comforting invitation for someone to open up and let it all out. The song is a reminder that it's okay to not be okay, and it's okay to show vulnerability and seek comfort in others. The chorus of the song, "Cry... cry to me, if u wanna, It's fine... fine by me, Cause I'll hold you, you see inside..." is a message of unconditional love and support, assuring the person that they are not alone and that they have someone who cares for them deeply, even if they feel like they can't express themselves.
The first verse talks about how difficult it can be to find happiness when one is plagued by insecurities and a hurting heart. The second verse encourages the person to come out of their hiding place and confront their feelings, no matter how scary it may seem. The third verse emphasizes the importance of solidarity, pointing out that no one is perfect, and that society's unrealistic expectations can be damaging. The message of the song is ultimately one of hope, telling the person that they can overcome their struggles by opening up and seeking support.

I would love to see the whole family perform together. We have reggae rise up down here in Florida but I don't think they all attend. Some of them have.
