Sky Rabbit Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Where have you
Been yea?
Trying to save
Another sea
They took us flying
Round your lines drawn and
Got us dropped in
They're like
The best
For a flying cage
With their minds
For lumps
And a time
That slaves
In a chain for two
We go flying away
Through the rocks
And chains
While we're all locked up
For sale
Hey little panda
Where is your zoo now
You know we never got that far
They took us
Hanging by the logs burnt
And got us dropped in
On your porch
The lyrics in Sky Rabbit's song Try are deeply metaphorical, exploring themes of captivity, environmental disasters, and human greed. The song's opening verse addresses a bird, likely symbolizing freedom, that has been trying to save the ocean from the destruction caused by humanity. The bird's efforts, however, are in vain as humans continue to pollute and damage the natural world.
The second verse introduces a panda, commonly regarded as a symbol of peace and harmony with nature. However, in this context, the panda is also a captive, confined to a zoo. The line, "Where is your zoo now?" implies that the panda has somehow escaped, or perhaps is just no longer confined to a physical space. This could represent a call for humanity to break free from their own self-imposed limitations and embrace a more natural way of living, in tune with the environment.
The chorus of the song speaks to the idea of being trapped, physically or mentally. The line, "We go flying away through the rocks and chains while we're all locked up for sale," could refer to the desperation to escape one's situation, even if it means enduring physical harm.
Overall, Try encourages listeners to break free from the constraints of society and embrace the natural world, to take action to prevent environmental destruction, and to reject the materialistic and consumer-driven culture of modern society.
