Madness
Sleeping with Sirens Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And every disguise I ever wore
Ashes and dust
I made an island
Facing the end
I said, what for
Sometimes it's a battle
But you're never defenseless
Sometimes we all lose strength
Please don't lose your faith
After our time has passed
We're like light through stained glass
We go on and on and on
In the end we're never gone
Out of the skies I shaped the silence
And from the earth I carved these walls
A piece of the world was only mine
And then I said I wanted more
At the edge of the blackness
When you're stretched to the core
Catch hold of the madness
Sometimes we all lose strength
Please don't lose your faith in me
After our time has passed
We're like light through stained glass
We go on and on and on
In the end we're never gone
I will be yours to trust
This is not the last of us
We go on and on and on
In the end we're never gone
Or erased
Please don't lose your faith
Please don't lose your faith
In me
In me
The above lyrics are from the song "Madness" by Sleeping with Sirens. The song is about a person who has spent their entire life building walls and masks to protect themselves from the world. They have created an island where they feel safe, but they realize that they want more than just their own piece of the world. They want to break down the walls they have built and let someone in. Despite the battles and wars they have faced, they reassure themselves that they are never defenseless.
The lyrics also touch on the idea that sometimes we all lose strength, but it's important not to lose faith in ourselves or in others. The idea that even after we are gone, we continue to exist in some way is also explored in the song. The singer reassures their loved one that they will always be there for them and that they will never truly be gone.

I guess the saddest part of everything isn't the fact that people are hating on SWS because of their new sound or any of that shit, but the fact that the boys must've been so excited to release this album after all their hard work just to hear people, especially their fans, say they hate it.. :( Oh well. I love it. Can't wait to see what the future holds for Sleeping With Sirens.

6 years later, and this album is a classic in my eyes. This album was beautiful when it came out... I love watching artist and bands grow and experiment. I feel like if they kept just putting out the same thing out over and over, I would get extremely bored.. and like with Bring Me The Horizon, people complain about their style changing. But I love it. They make it work. Just like SWS. So much talent and passion. That’s all it takes to make good music.
